How to rebuild a steering rack?

Anyone ever rebuilt a steering rack? Mine's leaking and I don't think I could get my core deposit back since I had to modify the housing a bit to clear my LS1, otherwise I'd just get a rebuilt one.

What ever makes you think they care about what you turn in for core support? Autozone or whatever store you go thru will only care you gave them something back. They dont compare it to anything to know what its supposed to look like.
