I got another 240 today (my third to date) and found some new problems with it on the drive home. The most irritating of which is the HVAC. It works (not the a/c) but the directionals dont work. No matter which button i push, it only blows up the defrost vents. I guess if it's going to be stuck somewhere, that's the best. But other than that, a few electrical things here and there..but nothing big. Any ideas?

I hate to bring back old posts but I am a newbie that knows how to search. I am having the exact same problem with my 90 240 and someone on another board posted almost the same problem with no answer. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Check the mode door motor for damage/binding.

under the center of the dash, there is a motor that moves a flap to direct where the air goes coming from the fan. also make sure all the lines are hooked up right and there are no leaks. it works off a vacuume if i remember right.

Its a servo motor located under the dash, in the driver side
Its electrical.

Well today while looking under the hood, I found my AC compressor belt shriveled up and just laying next to the compressor. Car runs fine, im hoping it didnt do any damage, even though im not using the ac compressor. :wtf: But "under the center of the dash" :ugh: That doesnt sound like fun! Lordy! Thanks
the dash isnt really that hard to remove, i think 3-4 10mm bolts by the windshield, and a couple underneath. dropping the steering colunm is 2 bolts, and the speedo is a few screws. nothing m ind blowing, i got mine out and a new one in in less than 30 mins. fixed tons of heating shit while in there too :)

Great thanks! Anyone have any ideas as to if the ac compressor not having a belt and not running, is ok for the car? Thanks
