We will get this if we also get a Fiesta ST. Should be easy to bring over, Juke powertrain is already US-friendly.

It looks like a versa-altima child. I don't see what's so exciting about it. Also, everytime I look at a juke I vomit a little.

We won't be getting an hot version of the Versa. Nissan of American said they don't think American customers in that segment want style, just content. Basically the opposite route Ford is going with the Fiesta.
So, yeah...don't hold your breath. Go buy a Mazda 2.

Nissan is trying hard to be the new Pontiac. Lets wow them with "style".

How did I guess this was another boring product even before opening the thread?

Pontiac had more character, most of Nissan's (& Infiniti's) lineup are indistinguishable from one another.

still dont understand why they dont just bring back the s chassis. idgaf about g35/350z and g37 370z sales. theyre 2 different cars/chassis. one being a v6 chassis, the other being a straight 4 turbo chassis. with the exception of the failure that is the u.s.

the new s chassis is the juke. ...or at least thats as close as we get.

It's a lot harder for car companies to justify low-volume cars than in the past. Any new S-chassis would be low volume and probably on a bespoke chassis, thus expensive and not a good business case.
Just buy a Genny coupe or wait for FRS.

Agreed. Jukes are ugly, boring SUV's, and well, I really couldnt care less about the Versa.

There's nothing low volume about Nissan doing this since the drivetrain is shared with the FWD Juke, and the chassis is a mass volume econo car. What is impressive is the looks of the material for this class of vehicle (standard and GTS Tiida) for the Chinese market @ a price that's actually acceptable by the US market.
The Tiida GTS is ~$24k USD. Cheaper than a Juke.

How when they are doing the exact opposite, or you not aware of their American marketing plans and this not being an option in our country. :picardfp:

The car yes, the engine I love though. So much potential.

Always wondered if car salesmen at dealerships actually believe what they preach when they are convincing potential buyers that all of their new cars; no matter how boring, ugly, or generic; are in fact the most attractive, exciting, and must-have cars yet.
Are they dead inside?

Sales-ppl need to make a living too.
Customers don't need the very best, just what they see as the best for their criterion.

So does the Tiida. To get similar level of equipment, prepare to pay $25k for the Juke.

Nissan Europe's secret Godzilla-powered "Super" Juke (http://jalopnik.com/5843721/nissan-europes-secret-godzilla+powered-super-juke)
is that what you were talking about? :ughd:
Although mildly intriguing if it even makes it to production..

Nissan at least still builds sports cars. 370Z/G37, GT-R, many car companies can't say the same. The Juke is polarizing, but at least it's interesting to look at and potentially interesting to drive. If you want vanilla, they've got the Rogue too. The Versa is pretty boring, but the Tiida GTS is probably decently fun, but the North American leadership doesn't seem interested in making the Versa sporty in any way. It's a shame, because the Versa is the #1 selling sub-compact in the US. Seems like they could tack on a sporty model and potentially reach customers that they aren't reaching now.
edit: somewhat related - Jalopnik reports that Nissan Europe is working on a "super Juke".
