So i was driving down the road last night and i push the clutch pedal down , halfway down i her *SNAP!* and the clutch pedal hits the floor and doesnt come up, my first thought is "shit there goes my slave cylinder. I manage to get the car home by turning the car off at every stop sign and using the starter to get it going in first gear and clutchless shifting, luckily it was only half a mile or so. So i get under the car, slave cylinder is OK, master cylinder is ok too. I look under the dash and the u cracket that connects the master cylinder pushrod to the pedal snapped into 3 pieces:eek:
so long story short i weld the bracket back together for a temporary fix, and ordered a new pushrod today.

So has anyone had this happen to them, it might be just the pedal pressure from the new spec stage 3, but it just seems like it could be dangerous at an intersection

NISMO makes upgraded brackets for this reason
you mean the bracket that bolts to the firewall and holes the spring/clutch pedal right?

yeah its the thing that goes into the firewall, if anyone can link me to get that nismo one then that would be great. It wasnt hard to put back on the pushrod, it was just at a funny angle that caused my shoulder to cramp, and i was doing the halfway i nmy car, halfway legs out the door move then it started raining.

i bought an oem replacement but itll probably break again :bash:

Mine broke last year. It was the U shaped part at the end of the rod that attaches the pedal to the rod.

Crude picture, but the part on the left, thats what broke on mine. I got the oem part, which was the whole rod with the U shaped part, I just took the U shaped part off the new part and slapped it on in place of the broken one.

Its not that hard of a job, it just sucks working under the dash like that.

mine too! (S13 w/ SR). the spot welds in that pic labelled "1" and "2"... with a stock clutch. Drilled and bolted and that's what's on there now. Again, anyone have link to the Nismo bracket?

its pretty simple, just take out the cotter pin then slide the other pin out sideways, the hard part is having enough space to clamp the knurled point ofthe pushrod and screwing off the bracket, all while in an awkward position.

one person on freshalloy used a bracket from a Z31 and he said it was beefier, wonder if a z32 bracket would work
