Looks like the rumours where true unfortunately-
-------------------------------------------
Sources in Japan say the current Skyline GT-R and Silvia (240SX) sports coupes will be discontinued in August because of poor sales, and the fact that they do not meet new exhaust-emission regulations due to come into force in Japan in September.
The twin turbo Skyline GT-R has long been a flagship sports sedan for Nissan, but only 2 200 were sold last year, down from about 8 500 in 1995. Demand for the Silvia has also fallen away badly.
The standard Skyline has since undergone a facelift to give it a broader appeal.
A radical new concept Skyline GT-R was unveiled at last year's Tokyo Motor Show in October, but this will not see the light of day before 2004 at the earliest.
Nissan's sporting flagship from August will be the all-new Nissan 350Z sports coupe.
