i started my car today thinking that i could drive a bit around but as soon as i started my car..... the engine was shaking as if it couldnt get much air or just about to cough ! my engine check in turned on in my dash !!! i started revving it up a bit perhaps it may have been exposed too much cold temp last night but when i step off the pedal the shaking was still there...i tried to drive it around the block..

the shaking is still there...

what is it?

does it seem like you have no power? does the shaking go kinda away at higher revs? its most likely your injectors...appens a lot, search and see if it fits your symptoms...

ya.... when i press the gas more it disappears but when i step off the gas and let it idle the shaking is there.. and ive noticed that my exhaust sound kinda differ. is that injector you are saying is my fuel injector? see... what happened is .. when i went to put my airbox because of upcoming smog check.. on that day it ran well, but today it my car is shaking !! could that be an airbox related symptom too? or must be my air sensor is not working well? ......... all i know so far is my check engine light is on.

after that me and my friend washed the engine.....i mean actually water hosed the engine to clean it a bit... i wonder if another case was water went into some sensitive mechanics.

distributor cap? alternator? they should be dried by now coz yesterday i drove the car home A+++ ...

today, it's coughing shit !

CHECK YOUR INJECTORS!!!! i was having the exact same problem 10 minutes ago, no joke.

turn it on, and move the injector wires around, oull on them, wiggle do it all till it sounds nice again. trust me it works.

Did you forget to plug the maf sensor back in? Or maybe you could have moved it just enough that the plug came loose? I dunno if it is injector related, unless it is clogged or something.

it could be a number of things now, make sure your mass airflow sensor is plugged in, check all connections to make sure there isnt any water in there, and check all your fuses...

you may also want to check that there isnt anything in the mafs, when the car is on, spray some carb cleaner onto the mafs, dont spray too much, it will cause the car to stutter, or it may die...hope that helps...

well if the maf was wet.. it could not have run well after the airbox and engine clean flush from yesterday.. but hmm ..you guys are the expert.. i will trace it how the airbox was installed. i didnt do the installation by the way but my friend. i will make sure that everything is snugged back and no water went it to the air scooper during the the engine detail flush...

thanks to all of you... i wish i could check everything you guys have said but its 1030 pm in los angeles now and way cold outside.. !
