View Full Version : tachometer reads too high, sometimes redlines
i have watched the RPM's through consult and it is accurate, so ill assume its a mechanical issue with the tach? is it worth taking apart and trying to fix, or should i just source a new one? below is a video of the problem

Apparently our tach's have a tendency to crap out on us, have you tried a working cluster to see if that fixes the problem? Mine wasn't working at all but after I swapped in a working one it was fine. I've heard its just a simple solder connection that goes bad, but I can't confirm that.

mine jumps around all over the place, from 0rpm to hitting the little peg that stops it from going all the way around. its fucking annoying tried a new cluster, didn't fix anything.
the odd thing is that some times (very seldom) it works perfectly fine. my guess is it is wiring somewhere.
