So my fusebox will be in the arm rest, battery in the boot.

Will this work/is this right?

A: alt
B: battery
F: Fusebox
J: junction box
S: starter

lol i wouldnt recommend doing that, i use a similar set up but just for gauges and misc electronics and i have some relays and fuses and this of this nature in there also

be sure to add a breaker between the battery and junction box.

save yourself some wire and daisy link the hot wire from the starter to the alternator. And yes add a circuit breaker or a fuse close to the battery

^ so take the live from the alt straight to the starter missing the junction?

I need to know what guage cable to use, this is what im thinking:
distribution block > Starter : 4GA?
starter > alt: 8GA?
distribution block > fusebox: 8GA?

Also the brown wire from my fan relay is cut, will this stop the car from starting? i will be wiring in electric fans.

Also what are the minimum things i need to plug in to get the car running?
ign barrel/turbo timer
SMJ
fusebox?

I just want to make sure it runs without fitting the entire loom so i can then sleeve the loom easy enough

ANY help much appreciated

can anyone tell me what the metal tab i have labeled 'earth' is?
