3 piece lip / barrel compatibility

I did some searching and came up with no clear answer...

I have a set of Fabulous Profounds, they are 40 hole barrels.



Can i use Work Barrels, SSR barrels ETC as long as they are 40 hole? I want to make the rears a bit wider.

I am worried that the hole's entire circumference around the barrel (though 40 total) would not have the same diameter and be off just a little.

How compatible are barrels?

Has anyone tried to use a mix brand barrel setup?


they seem like they would be fairly "universal" in terms of compatibility.

Final question, does anyone know Fabulous' email... i couldn't decipher it on their site.

Although I have never done it, from my understanding, most 40-hole barrels are compatible. If you check out vipstylecars.com, I think there are a few guys there that are running barrels/lips from different manufacturers that are 40-hole.

i looked on VIPstyle cars. as well, ihave searched and found a few vendors.

does anyone on here personally have experience using orphan barrels on their wheels?

Here's a question... Are Fabulous wheels (that are 3 piece) welded at the seam or not? I have heard that some 3 piece wheels are welded.

Has anyone tried to dismantle a set of Fabulous 3 piece before?
