I have a gap in my trunk, and It's bugging me so much. I'm not sure if the guy before me got rear ended or what. I know for a fact something happened back there because it's all bent up. But I'm wondering if maybe there's just a bent part that I can bend back and get a little less gap.. I know it won't be perfect but it can be better I'm sure.

You can see it's hitting a little to the left.

Does anyone have any pictures of their trunks that maybe I can compare mine too?

You tried adjusting the latch on the bottom? Might just be a matter of pulling it lower to align the trunk.

I actually was about to go outside to do that after looking at it.
Also, I'm the only person within 40 miles that owns a 240.. so I have no clue what it's supposed to look like. Is the top latch supposed to be a little angled?

The bottom one is pretty much the only thing you can adjust. You just have to play with it because it might not catch the latch if its too low.

If that doesnt work, does the car look like it got crashed before. The whole bottom cross bar might be slight dented up. You might have to beat it down a bit with a hammer if adjusting the bottom latch didnt work.

My trunk alignment is a little off after sliding into a pole.

Beast it out yourself, or just have a bodyshop align your trunk.

Simple.

adjust your bottom latch and mess with the 4 bolts that hold the trunk to the 2 bars.

save weight, just take it off.

flip down the rear seats send someone in with a flashlight and close the trunk. assess the angle of the latch in full lock. then remove said latch and send someone in again and see how much room there is for adjustment and if it even sits flush without the latch. then once again beat the shit out of it with a hammer like stated above.

Mine is the same way. The cracks in the lid let it flex some and it'll raise up even if you adjust it down. Mine was an inch high when i got it, and a little lower then yours now. I welded the cracks up.

Get someone to close the trunk and crawl half through the trunk seat hole and see whats going on, and whats keeping it from closing all the way.

I had the same problem with my old s13. I tried to engineer up a fix. It never really worked.

I have the same problem. I posted a thread here a while back about this. Mine was similar to yours cuz the trunk starting cracking around the latch. I got it welded back together and now it sits a little lower but it still sticks up on the right side a little.
