So my spontaneous purchase bug bit again. Since my turbo install is running lean I decided to pick up a WB o2 setup so I can tune/debug my car myself without having to bug anyone else to borrow WB o2 setups :) So I'm picking up one of these:

I'm getting the one that uses the cheap sensor (Bosch LSU4 7057 $28 @ 1stvwparts.com). Should be accurate enough for my needs.
One of the cooler parts of the setup is the data logging ability. It has a serial interface that you connect to a laptop, and you can sample the A/F 50 times per second as well as RPM and 3 user provided 0-5v signals and 3 thermocouples!
So I can set it up to log boost, EGT, RPM, A/F, Speed, etc.
Not bad for ~400 shipped.

Edit: Perhaps I could get a fold out DVD player and code up a F&F style performance display! YAY COOL heh :) j/k if I do that it certainly won't be F&F style :) I'll have to work on my winblows coding skillz before I can do anything like that :)

isnt the point of a wide band to use an expensive 5 volt sensor? o.O
im confused...

the 02 sensor is a 5 wire right? that seems tooo cheap to be a wideband 02(just the sensor i mean). but anyways so you got the whole deal for $400? the brain and sensor? is there a real-time display? looks pretty good for the price and what you get.
i was thinking of getting the FJO wideband 02. check it out tell me what you think. http://www.widebando2.com/
also let us know how the one you got works out. looks like a great deal.

Yes it is the 5-wire o2 sensor. The FJO is probably a superior WBo2, but the price is ~2x more. The aussie WBo2 has been shown to be pretty damn accurate. The $400 is without the sensor. But it does include shipping from australia and the controller/data logger. The Bosch o2 sensor used is actually made by NTK (who makes the sensor that the FJO uses) Dynojet WBo2 setups use the Bosch LSU 4 o2 sensor as well and that is the sensor I will be using with my setup.
It might not be as good as a $2000 WBo2 setup, but it will certainly give me all the data I need to tune my engine.

yeah the FJO has proven to be one of the most accurate WBO2. and for the price of the aussie wb02 + 28 for the o2 sensor it not a bad deal at all. i was talking to a friend about it and he says as long as its accurate thats all you need. from what he told me the new LM1 wb02 isnt too accurate. a buddy of his has it and try tuning with it. the wbo2 says its running perfect after tuning, but in reality its running like its rich. and the LM1 is only $340. i was thinking of getting that when it first came out, but not anymore hehe. so let me know how tuning goes with the aussie, if great ill look more into getting one of those.

Will do man, I'm going to be comparing the numbers to several WBo2 systems. One will be the dynojet (sensor in bung, not tailpipe) and the other will be a commercial grade wbo2 from the Nissan proving grounds (a $2000 unit ;))
I'll let you all know the results. Good thing the f-max downpipe has 2 18M bungs :)
