It's a 96 240sx, the H4 has a glare shield so there's not much glare at all. If you go with the 5000K kits and if you adjust your headlights after the installation you'll be fine.

Are these H4's the dual hi/lo ones? or are they just the single filament? This pulled off of your posting on NASIOC:

We have both the H4s and the H4(hi/low)s but the dual beams are $50 more, so the kit is $400. We don't have them listed on our website becuase we don't have too many of those. If you want to make an order directly paypal us at [email protected] and specify that you want an H4 hi/low beam kit. For everyone else, the H4s are the only kits that are available in the hi/low kits. Ferretboy uses the H4 kit in his headlights but I think the high-beams on the Forester is adjusted by a reflector in the housing, not the bulbs. So if you own a forester you should just get the regular kit and save yourself $50.

I wish I could get ahold of a Santeca (sp?) HID kit. I hear in Japan they have good HID kits that has proper beam patterns and reduced glare.

The glare factor really depends on the design of the housing. Compared to the Hellas that I HAD on my WRX, the Brightstar kits barely gives off any glare at all. The key thing to do is to adjust your headlights after you install the kits. Not every HID kit produces blinding glares. If you guys would like to see it for yourself you are more than welcome to. I'm usually at the Life Plaza meet on sunday nights with the Subaru crowd. I always see several 240SXs there in the back lot. The H4s have a glare shield which keeps the lights from shooting toward the bottom of the reflector and thus reduce if not eliminate the glare. I myself is not a big fan of getting blinded by oncomming traffic or people who are driving behind me. If this kit does just that we will not be selling them. The S14s with the projector headlights will have absolutely no problem with the glare becuase the projectors will create a cutoff on the beam pattern.

There are no HID kits that has a proper beam pattern becuase HID bulbs don't have any filaments. The light output really depends on the housing that you have. Brightstar makes quality kits that's why we sell them, you can read some of the user feedback that we have posted on our site.

If I am not mistaken, aren't S13 Silvia Blubs H3C. I am talking about the triple beam projectors version.

I know there was another option(Bulb Type), but I forgot what they were called. Anyone?

Even though it uses the H3C's it's plug and play, if you want to make an order just order the H3 and you can just do a direct replacement. We just put one in my friend's car a month ago.

Also, the s13 tripple projctors use the H3 for the beams, and H3C for the fog lights, so, the H3C isn't really a factor.

Well as you know, the 90' popup lights are sealedbeams. You can get the conversion to use regular H4 bulbs at any major auto parts store for about $40 bucks. After you do the conversion, you can grab an H4 kit from us.

We haven't done an install on a projector lens for the 240 yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. We've installed the kit on multiple projectors ie: 350z, mazda 6, land rover discovery, etc.. So far they've been fine.

Having a projector is actually better, as you have a defined cutoff line, and reduced to no glare.

SilviaDriver you are absolutely correct. Our 5000k systems are actually (4300-5000k) There is a range because it is almost impossible to match the exact light temperature through the light spectrum. All of our bulbs are pair matched by the manufacturer prior to shipment. We like to recommend and suggest the 5000k kits because 1) they produce the most usable light output, and 2) They don't attract attention like the blue coated bulbs, or 10000k kit bluish/purple HID's. Yes we do provide the higher range kits, however we suggest that they be used for show purposes only and not on the highways.

Alot of customers want the 8000k or above temperatures for that "BMW" look. That "BMW" look is actually caused by the projector optics in their headlights. What you see in your rearview mirror is the cut-off line, which gives off a prism-like effect - thus seeing the purple and blue colors. However if you were to sit in the drivers seat, it would be a pure white color and not bluish.
