The KA didnt come from a truck, the truck happened to use a KA which was made in Mexico.
The KA that is used in the 240SX is made in Japan and also used in various other less performance oriented cars in Japan as well.
So, there are differences. BUT, I believe the truck you are inquiring about is the 90-94 Nissan Pickup. The motor only had 134HP, something like that.

KA24E
88-90 240SX
89-92 Stanza
89-94 Pickup
89-92 Axxess FWD
89-89 Axxess AWD
96-97 Pickup
KA24DE
90-94 240SX
92-Up Altima
94-97 240SX
98-Up Frontier
The years I assume go by the actual production years, this is from an old site so Altima is not given final year, same with frontier.
So as you can see the first KA was a 240 motor, then it was a Minivan and Pickup and Stanza, follow the rest.
This by the way is the Axxess.

I had a 94 pickup that had the KA in it. Had it for 5 years and about 75K miles...never a problem with that steady powerplant! This is one reason why I plan on sticking with the KA rather than swapping for an SR!
