18" rims on a 1989 S13

Just curious about this one. I now have 17" rims on my 1989 S13. I was wondering about getting 18's chrome. Will this make my car heavier? If so, I don't care. I want it for shows... I was wondering if the 18's will fit even if my car is low? Help me out on this.

I think 18's go on fine as a guy on our board in the U.K. has 19's on his s13!!!! The offset is pretty important obviously tho.Here's a pic.
