ive tried everything i cannot get my fill plug on my sr trans to break loose. no room to get a socket and breaker bar on it and a combination wrench doesnt work and i tried torching it and using locking pliers and nothing and the edges are starting to be rounded but its a square head and not a hex head.

any other ideas on how to get this sucker loose?

Pipe wrench, PITA to get on if car is on ground but it will usually work.

Mine is fucked too...just fill from the shifter hole. You need about 2.7L of GL4 oil.

while i was building my car i knew filling the trans would be an issue once installed so i took a 2" holesaw and cut through my tranny tunnel directly to my fill plug. I found out that one of the rubber grommets in the spare tire area is that exact size. so i just remove the rubber grommet and i have easy access to the fill plug.

Fill it from the shifter hole. It's what I do.

i have an isis short shifter so i would need to unbolt the tranny mount and take out the 6 bolts holding my shifter on to do that

No you can just take the snap ring out and pull shifter out...takes all of 3minutes.

I have a short shifter and never needed to unbolt the tranny mount to take it on and off. Flat wrench from under the car for the front two and then rachet on the other 4 should work

I had the same issue with my tranny plug. I ended up putting it on a lift at work and used like a 3 foot pipe on the end of a open end wrench and threw my body into it lol! Goodluck on getting that pain in the ass out lol.

6 bolts in the transmssion...usually makes it easier on taking the front 2 out if you lower the trans mounting plate...

Make sure when reinstall it though, to use ultra-gray RTV for the flange (you dont' need a gasket) I also NEVER put the front 2 bolts back in, as the back 4 keep it sealed perfectly fine, and make refilling it in the future super easy.
