I saw many of you guys with white rims either spray painted or PCed.
how do you guys keep them clean w good brake pads (lots of brake dust)?
I recently spray painted them white. primered, painted and clear coated.
Some parts are not smooth so brake dust kinda stick in the rough area. and somr parts can't be completely cleaned back to white. i tried to clean once in 3 days. any solutions?

Im sure you have to be pretty meticulous with white wheels

my XD-9's are smooth as fuck from the factory so usually all i have to do is wash them with some soapy water and a wash mitten. best of luck to you man, but im gonna go out on a limb and say since you painted them yourself they are ultimately going to be a real PITA to keep clean.

fortunately for me i have only six spokes to worry about and could get my hand with mittens in the barrel. but i wash the wheels more than the car itself ( daily driven ) at least every other day . so brake dust wont build up . oh BTW mine's factory PC white

I run Hawk HP+ pads and my wheels are PC'd white. I've washed them once after about four months (they were completely black), and they actually cleaned up just fine fairly easily.
Expecting the same thing next time I clean them.

It wont. I'm running super shitty AutoZone pads right now and they are like brake dust factories. My wheels have been almost completely black at some points in time and all i did was wash them with soap and water and they look brand new again.

Good pads help a ton. I can't wait until i finish buying everything for my brake upgrade and get to throw my Hawk pads on.

I have hawk hps. they make way lesser dust and easier to clean than my rear stoptech street performance.
I gotta say that hps brakes shitty lol

I've had nothing but white wheels on my miata, all pc from the factory. Never had a problem cleaning them with soap and water as a few others have said.

The armor all wheel protectant stuff works well on my G35 wheels (OEM Pads were horrible). Keeps them clean for 4+ weeks.
I don't miss having white wheels though.

HPS and HP+ are quite different, I might as well be spray painting my wheels black with the HP+.

U should use FW1 spray wax makes ur paint and rims soft to the touch keeps brake dust off for longer! U could also instal cut fenders from behind the wheel to vent out more brake dust.

Doesn't stain, but I'm OCD when it comes to dirty wheels lol Specially white wheels with white barrel.

HP+ pads are the world's dustiest pads. I washed my car yesterday, hand washed the wheels, and after driving about 10 miles to the store and back, the entire wheel is coated in brake dust again, especially visible around the spokes.
I actually painted my wheels gold instead of white for this reason. I can't imagine trying to keep a white set of wheels clean with HP+ pads.

Your best bet is to use wax/sealant specifically for wheels. You can find some from chemicalguys that'll do the trick nicely. I'd pick up a wheel brush to get inside the spokes and the inner part of the wheels. White wheels look 10 times better when the entire wheel inside and out is all clean.
