HP TouchPad $100/$150...

Has anyone picked up the HP Touchpad on clearance for $100 and $150? HP is ending it's webOS and clearing out all of their tablets. The original price was around $500 and $600 for the 16GB and 32GB..

it's really not a bad idea if you can import android os.

good thing is it's prob compatible with adobe flash & pdf's,
something apple products don't offer, being the arrogant/stubborn company that they are.

If there's adequate hardware support, I say go for it.
At the very least $100 won't be such a poor web surfing tablet.
maybe not such a bad alternative to a kindle book reader (assuming android has a kindle app)

tempting, but i'll settle for my smartphone & laptop.

For that price, it's worth it even if all I can do is read eBooks and use it as a PDF reader for shop manuals in the garage.

I got off the phone with MacMall customer service. They are the ones who had the amazon listing for the 99 dollar touchpads. They told me that I have to wait an additional 24-48 hours to find out whether or not If I will get one. In the mean time they will be holding my money in limbo. Damnit!!!

Woot.com has the Viewsonic G-Tablet right now for $240. It has a pretty good Honeycomb port right now, most importantly. I'd rather get the G-Tablet. No waiting for what might come months from now. I guess it depends on how much that extra $100 means to you.

Also, Best Buy announced that now they WILL be selling their stock, which is 200,000+ units. May all be in-store though, I think they're sold out online for good.

I love and hate this tablet. i cant rewind youtube, my finger sometimes doesnt hit the right buttons, even though i have small hands. I spent 5 mins trying to post something on facebook, because when i put "convo" it kept changing it to Congo. And when i told it to make it convo again, as soon as i hit the space bar it changed it back to congo... you cant set full size screen wallpapers for some reason, they end up as a small square in the middle of the screen with no setting to change it. so much little shit with this thing. its more the fact of having a "cool tablet".

i cant stop playing angry birds. which is pretty much what i use it for. that and watching top gear in my bed.

The rumor is that BB sold all their online inventory and the ones that are left are the ones that have been sitting at the regional warehouses. The ones at the stores never sold so the ones at the distribution warehouses backed up. BB was trying to make them take them back before they dumped the line.

They are going to see what stores sold the most over the weekend then determine where to send the units still in the distribution chain. They won't be online only at the store.
