ok heres the deal, ive got a stock sterio/speakers setup in my car... i have a new pioneer deck and 2 6x9s im gonna put in.... ive heard about the stock system having a factory amp or something like that.... in order to hook up my new sterio do i need to take anything out besides the head unit and the stock speakers??? thanks for any help :D

there are seperate amps for each speaker for hte stock system. You have to open up the door and the amps should be right behind the speakers. In the rears, you will have to search around, i'm not sure where they are.
Make sure u take out those amps, or it may blow ur new speakers amplifying amplifiers ;)

if you ever wanna return the car to stock just run some speaker wire from the headunit to the speakers.
Its easier and ultimately better...

yea its some sort of ghetto wannabe bose system or something. i dont know. take it all out and run your own speaker wires.

the rear amp is under the paneling in the hatch on the driver's side behind (towards the back of the car) and below the speaker. there's a post in the FAQ about how to bypass the amps. i took mine out entirely.

p.s. as for the signature, i used spell check, you think ima take the chance of having the one thing thats on every one of my post spelled wrong? lol
