im thinking about doing the mr2 electric ps pump trick .. can anyone walk me through it or help out in any way ? thanks much

cars a 88 but motor is from 96 skyline"car" if your talking about the mr2 pump year.. then idk i havent bought one yet wanted to see if i could even figure it out first

U put Power to the pump use p/s lines to the rack and done!

Only do it if it's absolutely necessary. Make sure you have an upgraded electrical system as well (Quest alternator upgrade) because that pump pulls some serious amperage on startup, and especially if you're running electric fans.
I heard the Mk3 MR2 are better than the Mk2 but either should suffice. I think the Mk3 has the reservoir built on top of pump. Make sure to get the electrical connectors with it too. There is a guy from a DIY electric car forum that made a speed controller for the pump, so when you're idling or driving below or above a certain speed the controller modulates the pump, basically like most OEM speed dependent power steering. Google it.

Mazda 3's have electric pumps as well but I heard they're not as reliable as the MR2's. BTW, these pumps ain't cheap, even used.

thanks guys... i know the mazda 3 are like 380$ mr2 aint that bad .. i was going to run no PS cuz my rack leaks witch i have been doing for 4 months but i have some extra $$ and want to get it going now ... all that man handleing of the wheel makes my fourarms look like a jerk it 10 times a day "nothing against those who do":wackit:
