Hey guys, just trying to sell my previous daily-driver vehicle. It's a 1989 Honda Accord DX Hatchback.
This car is a PERFECT opportunity for anyone who is looking for a reliable commuter/beater car, etc.
It is a running, driving car, with NO mechanical issues. It's 5-speed w/ a brand new clutch, working A/C, a nice stereo, and gets 25-35+ MPG. What more could you want in a reliable daily-driver?
I am only the SECOND owner of this vehicle. My uncle was in fact the FIRST owner. I've been driving it for the last 6 years. This car has been a family possesion that has always been VERY well taken care of. When I got the car it had about 216,000 miles on it, all highway according to my uncle. It never gave me a single problem since the first day I owned it. I even drove it cross-country from Georgia to San Diego back in 2008. Since then, a couple trips to Vegas, San Gorgonio Mountains...and still never a problem.
In November 2010 though, I had some extra money and decided to go to a local repair shop saying "I want anything and everything you can find, fixed." I ended up spending $1,600 fixing every conceivable mechanical issue with the car. Anything from replacing the entire power steering rack, brake booster, new clutch, head gasket, and more. I still have that receipt to prove it. A/C was recharged and blows cold as well. I also have a spare carburetor, that I will include for free.
I had intended to just keep the car, but I ended up purchasing a newer/larger vehicle instead, to better support my growing family.
Honestly, this car has always gotten an EASY 25-35 miles per gallon, no matter HOW you drive it. Around the city, I average 350 miles per fill-up. On 100% highway drives, I average closer to 400-450 miles per fill-up. Considering the tank is significantly smaller than most other vehicles, that's pretty awesome. This car definitely runs on fumes, guys.
I'm also going to include a Alpine stereo w/ iPod cable as well as (4) Infinity 6.5" speakers and a Rockford Fosgate 8" subwoofer/amplifier combination, which are already installed and in perfect working condition. This stereo is MORE than than adequate for this vehicle, and has served me quite well over the years.
Before it sells, I would like to have one last alignment performed and have the brakes checked/replaced one last time BEFORE the car is actually sold. I will pay for that out of my own pocket. This way, you'll also know that you're getting a car that is 100% turn-key ready as well.
The only thing that is even "wrong" with the car, is some damage on the rear passenger-side of the vehicle, from a small car car accident I was in earlier this year.
The passenger-side door DOES still open, and the window operates fine. I've had local repair shops tell me the damage is easily repairable if you choose to, and the frame is NOT damaged.
Besides the damage from the accident, there are NO other note-worthy dents or dings. The ORIGINAL paint is in great condition for a 1989. The interior is exceptional as well. The fabric on the driver's side bolster is torn a bit, but the seat itself is still comfortable. Simple seat covers can fix that.
The only thing I might suggest is replacing the windshield down the road. It just has a few chips in it. No crazy "spider-web" cracks or anything like that, though, just some chips.

So again, besides the minor visible damage to the outside, the car is otherwise in fantastic condition. Regardless of the minor damage, it is still a perfectly running, driving car, that averages 25-35 MPG. If you're just looking for a reliable, well-documented, daily-driver..this car is definitely for you.
