Ok, I have a pretty stock KA in my 1993 240sx. Im planning on buying an Apex'i n1 Exuast, but i have some quesitons, first...Apex'i has Turbo and Non-Turbo applcations, im planning on going sr in the future. So should i buy the turbo application? Would it go with the KA? Does anybody have any other suggested system? thanks :p

Yep the turbo one, the one with a 115mm exit and a 95mm piping if im not mistaken. Ur low end won't be as good as b4 but you'll have better high end and more potential when u swap ur sr.

The Apex'i N1 turbo is 80mm (3").
And like speeddreamz said you'll lose some low end with the KA. It'll pay off once you get the SR in though.

The N1 is also available for NA applications too isn't it? with a 75mm piping? ..the question IS, how will that affect my NA KA? Sound? Low/high end power? anyone have any clue???? ...

so if i plan to go with the n1, ill lose sum low end power. how much exactly are we talking here. i live in regina, saskatchewan, and the roads are short. i dont want to line up against sum piece of rice civic and it smoke me because i cant get the full potential out of my motor becuase of the exhaust. if any one knows exactly how much lwo end is lost, plz help. i wont be doing the swap for several months, is it better to just go for the n1 na application, or go with the turbo. i want a semi loud exhaust, are there any other good ones out there.

you'll kick yourself for getting the NA exhaust once your SR is in. turbo motor + NA exhaust != fun for you

don't worry about getting smoked by civics on the street. that's not important

like "I'ma driftaholic" said, getting a N/A type catback/exhaust system when your going turbo is a waste of time and money. Might as well get the turbo spec exhaust, so you don't have to waste time by posting it up wherever for sale and then getting a turbo exhaust if you get the N/A version. Learn from my mistake, I was going to get a Blitz Nur Spec R or a Apexi GT Spec catback, but somehow I was talked in to getting a N/A HKS Hiper...still wondering why I let "my so called friend" talked me into getting it when he doesn't know shit bout 240's/silvia/skylines, etc besides hondas...*shudders*

But if you really want power, save up for your engine swap first. That's going to add/give more power then just a catback on the KA24.

Changed my planning on buying parts:
1. Rb25det clip and parts needed to install
2. Fuel, air, and cooling upgrades
3. Head rebuild, port polish
4-10. Everything else that bolts on

What about the 85mm HKS Hiper(some call it High Power?) exhaust for turbo applications? It comes with a silencer so you won't be super loud with your NA engine and once the turbo is on, the silencer comes off. Plus the HKS ships in several parts as opposed to the Apexi N1 one piece. It might be more exspensive, but with the high shipping cost of the N1 and the silencer(should you decide to buy one) it will be really close to the same price as the HKS.

I'm not sure about power difference but I assume with the silencer you will not lose much power. You might not gain much power either but 5hp here and 7hp there really can't come compare with the XX HP or XXX HP you will gain with the Turbo.

HKS Hiper aka Hi-Power (65mm) or..
APEX'i Single N1 (75mm and about $100 cheaper)

Pros and cons of each on my application? Your help will be gladly apprciated! Thanks...

Well, I too had the same delima couple of months ago.
NA or Turbo Exhaust. somehow, I end up with a HKS NA Hi-Power for now.

I spoke to several of my friends with turbo experience. According to them,If you are not going to modify your SR like crazy, a NA 65 mm such as HKS Hi-Power might be ok. Actually, one of my friend's WRX with HKS Hi-Power 85 mm in diameter makes around 420 HP at wheels.(Thanks to his HKS-GT-3037) He says, a 65-70 mm pipe probably would be good enough for light-tuned SR. Say 180-230 WHP.

I've also noticed that one of famous Japanese After Market Brand
"Kei-Office" Their Street version Exhausts for SRDET have only 70 mm in diameter though. Perhaps that tells us something.

ANyway, 85 mm probably is the way to go if you want to have 300 HP or up.
