ZR1 driver lives in San Diego also owns a GT-R.

How the hell do these guys lose it going straight?

He didn't lose control. You can clearly see he was trying to make that turn right in front of the 300C. Looks like a combination of him thinking his ZR1 is faster than it really is, and the 300C accelerating thinking the ZR1 wants to race coming up that fast. Either way, fail ZR1 driver. Complete idiot.

They probably where racing, thats why its a short clip and the screen is cropped, edited to make it look random. Its a coincidence that he happened to be filming? probably recording the race

It's a 650hp car. Pretty simple to over or under correct a car with that much torque.

yeah i think it was a merging in lane and the ZR1 was trying to cut in front SRT8, as the end of their street racing. I think both parties are in fault because of street racing. I am totally agree with HyperTek and ronmcdon (jizz on the door panel lol)

Yeah, I'm sure he only had the camera on for those 8 seconds and managed to capture just that. They have something to hide obviously. I bet he tried using the video as evidence as to why it wasnt his fault. Either way what a jackass move on the part of the vette guy.

I think the driver of the ZR1 did lose the back end and went into the other lane, happens quite often in high horsepower RWD cars.

Not to bring up this argument again, but this why I still say the GT-R is a far better car than the ZR-1, even if the ZR-1 is a little faster in some situations. It takes a pro driver to drive the ZR-1 at 9/10ths without crashing, the GT-R is MUCH more forgiving due to AWD and all the electronics.

A GTR allows an idiot to go fast
A Z06 Allows a Good driver to go fast
A ZR1 allows a great driver to go really fast

A Z06 is a better match to a GTR, a ZR1 is in a different leauge.

I agree I don't see how that makes a gtr a better car. Its just easier to pilot. You should know what you're getting into when you buy something with the likes of 600+ horsepower. If you can't properly control it, don't attempt to. Especially not on open roads like that.

They weren't racing. The 300C just wanted video of the ZR1. That's when the ZR1 made...err...attempted a fly by and lost it.

The 300C was a bolt on SRT8. Doesn't stand a chance, why would he drop a gear and even attempt catching the ZR1 after it pretty much got a head start lol.

C6 has 4 modes of traction control, engine torque managent, stability control, etc... In order to get a C6 out of control like that you have to manually turn off all of the built in nannies and then drive likean asshole. Idk about the ZR1 and its traction control systems but its probably the same if not more advanced.


This guy is just a shitty driver. lol

I had this exact same situation happen to me, except I was just cruising on the freeway in my s14 after it had rained a few hours prior so the roads were still damp. A z06 came up next to me then jumped on the gas, rear lost traction and it fishtailed almost taking us both out. Only difference was he didn't crash into me and I wasn't trying to race him.
