Man I am no expert in the subject but i don't see you getting too far with the stock injectors. The 370cc SR20DET Injectors are pretty cheap and will swap in. As for the lack of SAFC, I think you will be fine with just a hacked MAF for what your doing. Hopefully one of the board members who actually knows something will respond who isn't me just trying to raise his post count.:D

correct me if im wrong but to run SR injectors dont you have to get some way to program them?(i.e. S-AFC or programmed ECU) b/c otherwise the computer doesnt know what kind of injectors its using therefore doesnt know how to run/calibrate them?
and i have a thunderbird T3 and would be really interested on any info youve found out about it. anything at all!! i have no idea what size/ar/flange/compressor/etc. is on it and turbonetics was less than friendly when i tried to ask them. thanks

yes, you can get away without an S-AFC. The adjustable cartech fmu is actually very nice, and you can run fairly safely with that if you'll get it to a dyno, and adjust it properly.
The stock injectors are good to 7psi when using an appropriately sized rrfpr. usually about 8:1 on stock 270cc injectors

if you want info on the thunderbird go to www.turbomustangs.com.
they are a very popular Junkyard turbo. if it was a 5 speed car up to 85 it had a .60 compressor, if it was an automatic, pre 85 it was .48 compressor, i believe both years had a .60 exhaust a/r.
87-88 turbocoupes had a very VERY small IHI, worthless for anytype of real engine.

IHI's suck, my brother has one and he is building up another engine and using a T3. IHI's came on the 87 and 88 T birds. If you buy a thunderbird T3 off ebay, half of them are really IHI's.
Anyway just hack the mafs and use 370's, its been proven time and again that its the cheapest way to make power.
might want to get BTM though.

i have hacked MAF on my KAT and it works fine, still a little rich though
hacking the maf involves cutting the plastic tube out ftom around the MAFS and inserting it into a bigger piece of metal pipe (~3" OD)
theres a full explaination on orion's site www.ka24development.com

Thread after thread all you do is tell people to use the search button. you have 1190 posts half of which are telling people to use the search button. There are only so many problems and question and obviously they will be repeated. Why dont you take a break.

fuck you, I answered a bunch of questions, its rediculous to expect to be lead by the hand like a little girl in a public bathroom.
sometimes people have to do a *little* bit of work themselves, as stunning a concept as that may be.
hacking the maf has been covered a million times in much greater detail than could be covered. through this thread this guy found out what homework he has to do.
And I'm not going to do his homework for it, but I pointed him in the right direction.
if you have any further problem with me, stifle yourself, cause no one cares.

Well, the trick with the whole "use the search button" is there is an assload of information on these forums. He could say "You enlarge the diameter of the MAFs allowing more air for the same metered ammount."
-or-
He could politely redirect the user to search, where they would find pages of information. It isn't like this is an obscure topic with one or two threads of answers and thousands of threads of questions.

It's good to know that an 8:1 FMU with stock injectors is adequate for 7psi for now. :rawk:
