Front clip stuck in Long Beach (flashoptions) [help!]

Ok, many of you know that I've been dealing with flashoptions since last march , but you probably don't know that I STILL haven't recieved my clip. I paid for shipment to Searsport Maine, which is about 30 miles from me thinking that I could rent a U-Hall truck and bring it home that way. I unfortunately recieved this from flashoptions about a week or two ago:

Dear Sir,
we've send you the clip already, shipping is to charles schayer only. If not it will be stuck in the port like your original clip.

It's in Long Beach.

You can clear it with them

Well it would have been nice if you had maybe told me about that a little while ago so I could raise money to have it shipped to Maine. Listen, you've dicked me around on this enough already. Do what you need to do to get it to Maine. You told me it would be coming to searsport and that's what is going to happen.



So, at any rate, they don't want to take responsibility for it being stuck in Long beach, and I'm not about to pay an extra 500 dollars to have it shipped from california to maine. Anyone here have some input on this? I was thinking if I could get enough people to email them on my behalf maybe they would do something about it... I'm kinda stuck here. I suppose I could talk to a lawyer, but I'm a bit broke at the moment (don't worry, I've got most prep stuff done for the car)

Well I dont know what to tell you cept that it sounds like your getting fucked. However I do live in Long Beach and I can help you out in terms of shipping like if you need someone to go down and talk to someone or help maybe getting something setup with uhaul. Just hit me up.

To be honest you are fucked. Your only option is to come to Long Beach physically (or contact the broker) and have it cleared out of customs with proper paperwork.

You cannot sell it to anyone else because the clip was shipped over here under your name and U.S. Customs will not release it to anyone else.

Good luck; this is the exact reason why I do not deal with overseas sellers. I'd rather pay extra and have peace of mind with sellers I can trust.

Well, there's no way I'd sell it to anyone anyway. My car is sitting up here with no engine in it right now. Jason, Thanks for the offer... I might just take you up on that. I'm going to give the guys at the port a call tomorrow and see if I can figure out what I need to do to get it cleared out of customs. Maybe I can make the best of it and do a road trip to long beach this winter or something, lol. It is pretty damn cold up here.

Does anyone have any experience with shipping a clip accross country? When I get it cleared through customs is it possible to have another company pick it up and ship it?

I am confused as to how you are getting "fucked." What did they promise, delivery to your front door? If so, then that is what you should be getting.

However, if the clip is at the dock and just needs to be cleared with your signature.. then you either have to come out to SoCal or possibly see if you can have it done through a broker.

I dont know why this has take so much time. You could have just paid more and have a local importer in SoCal get your clip shipped to you with no problems. All this hassle just to save a few bills, its just not worthwhile when dealing with imported goods.

Old_s13. Yes, they did promise delivery to my door. It's a really long story, but believe me I'm not alone in being pissed off with them. Aparently it's actually a 19 year old kid who has a friend impersonating an exporter or something like that. It's pretty crazy, but I really don't want to go into details because it would take me about 2 hours to write everything down. For one example, however, two containers were sent to the wrong countries. :rolleyes:

Also, the reason I went with flashoptions is, #1, I'm broke and saving money is a good thing. #2, everything I heard about them before I ordered was excellent. It was only after I ordered that problems arose.

At any rate, there are a lot of people that are pissed off with them. So anyone that reads this and is in the same situation, read the post I'm about to put up titled: "Class Action Suit: Flashoptions.com"

P.S. Jason, thanks again for your willingness to help, but it looks like I probably won't need it. The person that is at the warehouse that I was talking to is helping me out quite a bit, and it's actually going to be coming to boston as well, so I'm going to be doing most of it myself.

Well whatever you do, dont give up. Thats a large amount of money and you should never let anyone tell you your fucked, just keep trying to do what you need to do to get your money back in your pocket. Hopefully after all this is done, you'll have your money OR the clip you wanted. And hopefully, you will be more careful as a buyer as well.

Well no matter what, this has certainly been a learning experiance as well. In the future, if I was ever to ship overseas again, I wouldn't pay until I saw that the item was, indeed, here. Now I know that most places won't do that, but fuckem! :)

Anyway, it'll all work out, one way or another. Besides, I'm part polish and I needed something to bitch about anyway, haha.
