condition of this exhaust?

Could you guys look at this exhaust and tell me if i should buy this?
The price is really good but not sure if it'll start cracking and chit in the future.
it's injen SES for 350z.
i have no idea what the black stuff is..
i heard from one guy that the pipe connections may need to be replaced.

Its black because it has probly overheat due to high turbulence, if you remake it, you should make a X pipe instead of a H... Just sayin'

Depending on what is your "good price" it seems to be a good peice of exhaust ;)

i see that lots of ppl go X pipe.
Do the pipe connections and welds look OK? can't have the chit cracking like an earthquake. or the heat releasing through the pipe
