i'm more convinced that the s techs will handle better mated with some agx's than the sportlines would. but it just sux that its only 15. drop.

does anyone have apic of their s techs on their s13 with stock wheels?

i've searched, seen a couple front shots, no side profile, and definalty a ton of misinformation

someone stated that their teins sagged a bit after about 100 miles. thought that wasnt supposed to happen. also someone else stated that the sportlines and s techs had close to the same spring rate. i find that very hard to believ as well. if anyone can clear this up i'd appriciate it. thanx

I have the sportlines and I love em. They may not be very expensive or the best of the best, but they are EIBACH (a brand i know and trsut)they dropped it and they improved my handeling big time over stock. but i wouldnt recomend putting them on stock struts if you want a good improvment. Try finding a strut w/ a camber adjuster on the bottom.

I think most people overlook this:

Depending on options and trim level, every car will "drop" a different amount when new springs are installed. For example, when I first put my springs on (neither sportlines nor teins), my car's interior was stripped, and being a base model, it was pretty light in the rear end. This resulted in no drop whatsoever. When I put the interior back in, it finally lowered by about an inch or so. All I'm saying is that a fully loaded '98 automatic s14 will sit a little lower than my very-base model '96 s14 does. I have compared my car's 'drop' to others on the same springs, and the results vary. The amount your car will drop is somewhat dependant on its options.

My cousin ,though my advice, just got eibachs on his s13 with agx shocks. They are very nice! I love the way it handles, and it looks pretty nice to. He has stock wheels on his but if you leave me you email address I'll send you some pics. Hope this helps and sorry I don't have that much info on the s-tech springs.... the only thing I know about them is we were also deciding between the two and the eibachs looked like a better choice (drop lower, ride stiffer). But that's going by the "numbers". anyway ttyl- CHeers

I picked the sportlines since they had the highest rates of any springs available to me at the time (like 2 years ago, although RSR's were supposedly around, though I couldn't find where to get them). Between the sportlines and the s techs, i believe the sportlines are slightly stiffer.

I have s techs and agx's on my 90, it took me forever to decide between the s techs and sportlines, but I'm glad I chose the s techs. I was surprised by how much they really did lower, it must have been more than 1.5. I actually just deleted my pics with an unlowered 89 next to it, it looks a good 2 inches lower though. handling is great, even my girlfriend noticed a big difference :p if I had to choose again, I would stick with the s techs.

dtm006-do u have any pics of ur car?

ace-you seriously think the sportlines have a higher spring rate. i coulda swore the s-techs were a lot stiffer.

reguardless
i just wanna see one more pic of the s-techs side profile.

I have one crappy pic of it, e mail me at [email protected] or AIM: Ferrari006 and I'll send it to you if you want.
IIRC the s techs are stiffer (that's why I chose them).

so is everyone fairly sure that the s-techs ARE stiffer than the sportlines? i wasnt able to find the spring rates on the sportlines. i did however find them for the teins posted everywhere, apparently b/c the s-techs have a really nice spring rate.

Eibach Sportlines (Progressive)
Front: 137-230 lb/in | 2.2"
Rear: 128-200 lb/in | 2.1"

posted in the tech section. I dont know much difference between progressive and nonprogressive. to convert from kg/mm to lb/in, multiply by 56.

Have you considered rsr springs?

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but progressive means the spring gets stiffer the more it compresses. non-progressives have the same spring rate no matter the compression.

Tein S.Tech
Front = 3.2 kg/mm | 179 lb/in
Rear = 2.9 kg/mm | 162 lb/in

thats from the spring rate archive under technical.
Also, they arent listed as progressive.
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt tein offer hard and medium springs? Or why am I thinking that that is only for s14?

I have my tein stuff in my glovebox in my car, next time I drive somewhere I will try and remember to pay attention to see if it has the spring rate on em.

from TEIN's website:

S13:
F: 3.7 kg/mm, 207 lb/in. (1.5 in. drop)
R: 3.2 kg/mm, 179 lb/in. (1.2 in. drop)

S14:
F: 3.8 kg/mm, 212 lb/in. (1.3 in. drop)
R: 3.5 kg/mm, 196 lb/in. (0.9 in. drop)

well, whatever the rate, I don't think I would want anything stiffer than the tein's for street use. They are a really good street spring.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead. . I found it using SEARCH. .so you all should be proud of me :D

I'm looking at purchasing a set of TEIN Stech springs for my 97 S14 LE. . I will buy KYB AGX shocks before installing, and do it all properly. . cause I'm sure my stock shocks have seen better days.

My question is. . (couldn't find it in search). . what is the stock spring rate for a 97 LE, so I have some comparison. . ?

Also. . anyone have a pic of an S14 with these particular springs?

thanks!!
