Hey everyone,
I have been looking at getting some fender flares for my s13 hatch for a while because I am gonna need some wide wheels/tires to lay down the 400+hp that my CA18 is gonna put down :D My question is, if I got some wider fender flares (about 30mm wider) what would be a nice rim size/offset for them to be pretty flush? I plan to use Q45 or 180sx brakes and some good coilovers. I am not ready to get the flares/wheels/tires combo immediately but I wanted to get a good idea of what I am going to pay so I can budget that in.
Thanks for all your help!

I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna......
What size flares do you want, what kind, how do you want to mount them, what size wheels, tires, what are you going to be doing with your 400ps CA... etc.... lil more info would be A+.

Not to be a smart ass but I did say 30mm wide fenders in my first post,;) I will have them riveted on because I dont really like the molded-on look too much. My car will be mainly a street car but will see some autocross and grudge night events. Sorry for the lack of info in the first post, I kinda forgot. But I am very open to wheel choices 15,16,or 17 would probably be best for me as far as widths go, I dont really know how wide to go or what offset so thats why I was asking. If you guys have links to the wheels/sizes you suggest that would be great, if not i'll just do a search.
Thanks!

Well, I ask because its possible to get a 10.5 inch wheel on (and much more, but 10.5 is pretty easy), but there is a differece between 17x10.5 +12 Te37s and 15x7.5 +5. Like $1000 difference. Not saying you are gonna get TE37s, but seeing as how you dont have your BUILT CA in your RS13 yet.... i imagine you are sorta not rolling in dough.
Basically wide low offset wheels will usually be very expensive. You could be liek everyone else and get FN01RC in 17x9 +15 and just use 20+mm spacers (30mm wider is a lot).
Also in this case, since you menton forms of driving where handling is very important, and bump steer and scrub radius would just decrease your desired performance. And Auto-x with 40ps. Eeep. Sounds conflicting. I mean if you are building a drag racer, get some 15x12with 375 tires, if you are "drifta" get some 17x9 or 10 with 215-235. If you are AUTO-Xing.. 16x8 +25 or so with 225s
The main amount of grip you will get for your 400 hp built CA is tire brand, compound, suspension tuning, etc.

Use this to see how much your wheels will move outward

DoriftoSlut-I am basically making it a street car with weekend events, not a track-only car but definately not a trailer queen. I just want a set up that will look and perform nicely all around (if that is possible). Would 16x8 +25 put me flush with the stock fenders or the flared fenders? No, I am not rolling in dough as a student but I try to go with quality parts as much as I can. I'm sorry to sound so newbish but I just dont know much about offsets etc, I'm more engine educated i guess.
DrifutoS14-thanks for the link but how is that car specific?
S13S14S15-I havent gotten them yet but I have been lookin around at diff japanese sites etc for flares, or maybe custom ones.
Thanks guys

I'm putting about 200-210 to the wheel and they still spin with these tires. I'm an autoX and road courses. I'm going to switch to 245/45/16 next week.

sexy coupe.
ok so lets say that an 8in wide wheel with a +22 offset fits flush. and an inch is about 25mm so if the wheel was 9in wide would it stick out 25mm more? i dont know if that is right or if i am on the right track. can someone help so i know how to calculate it in my head?
Thanks

^^^^^^
Nope, if the 9" wheel also had a 22mm offset it would stick out 12.5mm more.
Also keep in mind that suspension setup also plays a huge factor in wheel flushness. If that coupe was an inch lower, those wheels wouldn't be as flush as they are now because of camber.
IMO if you're putting on like a 20-30mm overfender and you want 16x8's to be flush i wouldn't have an offset higher than 0. I'd proll go negative but that's just me. Another thing to consider is that since you're primarily gripping going 8" front and 9" rear wouldn't be a bad idea. It'll also help prevent oversteer.
