Ok so i bought a working s14 sr20det motor and put it into my s14 240sx. I bought brand new wiring harness from wirign specialties and im using a stock RED WC s14 sr20det ECU. Car will turn over great, but for some reason just will not run. I hear the enjectors clicking on all 4, i have spark on all 4 plugs and i can hear the Walbro 255 fuel pump turn on when i put the key to start. i have 3 working s14 oval plug MAFs. When i spray MAF cleaner into the intake, the car will start, run then die. ANY IDEAS guys? kinda stumped here. thanks!!!!

Also, for some reason, when i have the key turn to on, i should be able to see 12v on power wire, .1 on signal, and 0.0 on ground. im currently only seeing 0.0 on power, .1 on signal, and 0.0 on ground.... brand new harness and stock ECU... hmm

Check fuel pressure. If starting fluid allows the engine to run for a bit it should be a fuel problem. Make sure the injectors arent leaking and the spark plugs are ok. Im assuming the voltages given are for the mafs?

thanks, il try all that. and ya the its for the MAF wiring

i had a similar problem staring mine for the first time.
i was flooding out the cylinders, so i cranked the motor without the injector clips connected and it started!

DriftVader and yoozef what was the culprit? I'm having the same issue with my SR.

Its the CAS. This is what happens when they go bad. You don't have injector pulse thats why the thing will run if you spray stuff in the intake. The ECU wont sent signal to injectors if the CAS isnt working properly. I have one in perfect condition from my old head if you need a replacement. I went with a VE head and had this same problem with the new head.

If his CAS was bad he wouldn't be getting spark or hearing his injectors clicking... The ECU won't send signal to fire those drivers without a reference point on where the cams are. He said he's not getting 12v on the Maf wire. Check the pin outs as I had an issue with one of my pins from wiring specialties when I bought their harness years ago.

I thought if the cas was bad the plugs wouldn't spark either? Could be wrong though. Take out the cas and fuel rail and spin it and see if the injectors fire. Do you have a afpr? Also see what your fuel pressure is at.

Like he said.. check fuel pressure.. and if you just installed the Walbro, make sure it is hooked up correct.. it could be doing the opposite of pumping, i know cause i had one were the terminals (on fuel pump) were reversed.. black was positive and red negative.. ha

Check to make sure your fuel lines are plumbed right too. Fuel line should come from the filter and the return should come from the regulator and go back to the hardline without the filter on it.

If his CAS was working and he did have spark and fuel the car would sputter and pop and try to run period. He clearly does not have fuel or spark or the car would at least pop some. I had an issue with the hall effect on my head (same as CAS basically) and this is what it did. As said above def check the fuel lines. I always run a clear braided return line so I can see the fuel return
