Is it just me or is it super retarded when someone sells something and then edits a post to replace a price with "sold" or "$sold"?!

I'm trying to find a certain car or part or sometimes at least see what the average price people are selling it for and just when I find the perfect thing to base a price on I see someone replaced the price with "sold".

There should be an internet wide car forum rule against this man! What are the forum owners thinking letting people do that?! A car for sale or part(s) for sale thread can be useful in search engines forever and ever for people to get an idea of what a certain car or part would cost but once the price is removed the thread becomes totally useless! Please stop!!!

:picardfp:

Damn, I guess people just don't understand what I'm talking about.. has no one ever wanted to find out what the usual price is on a used part and came across a (possibly old) thread with someone selling it and the price is replaced with "sold"?

I do it all the time.

I do it all the time.

Do what all the time? Sell parts and remove the price? WHY???? It makes absolutely no sense.

I sell stuff and when it's sold, I erase all info from the post and simple write something like SOLD OUT

Ok.. but why? Why not just put "sold" next to the price?

No need to keep the price there.

My parts and deals are so good, I don't need anybody seeing them after the sale is completed.

So that people don't get their hopes up are repeatedly ask if you still have the part? Common sense will tell you that. You're whining like a little bitch. Send a message to the person that started the thread and kindly ask them what their asking price is. Unless the thread is 10 years old, you should get your answer. God damn, it's not that complicated

Lol that's no excuse, if I could do a google search for say a "greddy profec spec b" boost controller and the results list 'fs' threads from the last 1-3 years then I could look at all those threads and get a ballpark estimate on what it's going to cost to buy it from someone, but instead I get a bunch of threads with the part I'm looking for and a "$sold" sign next to it.

^ wha he said. so you would rather someone keep asking if something is sold or not? no point in keeping the price there if its sold.

LOL Everything on this forum is always "crying this", "whiny bitch" that. What the hell are you talking about? Read the thread and actually process what I am talking about. Put "sold" in red text next to the item/price, don't remove the price altogether. Maybe I should repeat myself for the slow tuner kids.. You can still leave the price there and put "sold" next to it.

This entire forum gives off a 16-22 year old asshole know it all vibe to be completely honest. There's absolutely no community type help here available. It's as if the members just get by on the historical DIY and how to threads and do nothing but flame newbies and tell them to search.

Just re-read the thread and look at all the confusion on the simple point I'm trying to make. People here are only interested in clashing opinions or don't understand big words and want to start an argument ffs..

yea, i got sick of people asking me "still for sale" "still have it", or offer me a damn price when it's sold.. GROW UP AND MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN PRICE.. It's yours to sell anyway?

OP you have a great point and I agree that I get annoyed when I search to see what stuff has gone for in the past and come up with SOLD.

Or even when I see something that just got sold and am curious what the sale price was (just for my own curiosity). I don't really think there's anything we can do about it though. People are going to do whatever they want or whats in their best interest so..

It's not a huge deal anyway.

there is if the thread is posted in the right topic area and isn't a common question that you can find the answer by searching... or just doesn't have an over-all bitchy attitude about it.

You are just confirming how much of a bitch you really are. You're crying about people removing prices and making their thread less confusing to people who come in and want to know if they have a part they are looking for. Until you acquire a high enough position on this forum or any forum to change the rules, learn to deal with it. You are actually angry over something so simple. I can see you sitting behind your computer screen throwing a little temper tantrum and yelling at your obese wife when she comes in wondering what the hell is wrong with her little pumkin. There is nothing you can do about, so get the fuck over it. If you don't like this forum, leave. No one knows who you are and frankly, I doubt they give a flying fuck. You won't be missed. I have found plenty of answers on this forum. If you know how to look, it is the easiest thing you could possibly do. This whole thread is worthless. Your entire existence is worthless. Please, for the love of god, DO NOT reproduce

Interesting thread, lol OP talks about people whining on Zilvia, which is exactly what he is doing. Pot calling the Kettle black.

OP who has not been on this forum long does not understand why people remove all info or the price they sold it for when an Item is sold.

I will answer that for the OP. Once you have sold many items you will learn a few of the finer points of selling on Zilvia.

First point is prices are not always written in stone, what you decide to ask for something this week may not be the price it sells for later. In that case you remove the price after it is sold as you may not want to set a precedent. That is a sellers perogative in a non communist non socialist system.
It is rather draconian to tell sellers they cannot remove the selling price once the item is sold. Its sold end of story, get over it.

Which brings up the second point which people have actually spoken of. You being new here and having never sold here have never had to deal with people making offers to you or asking if you still have something for sale. Quite often taking the price out and putting SOLD! is the clearest way to communicate to them " I no longer have said item do not bother asking" .

That's it in a nutshell, The classifieds are classifieds for private sales which means the people are not stores. Which means they usually do not have multiples of the same item and therefor will not be posting it again.

I understand what you're saying but I still believe my point is just as good if not better.

More traffic from search engines, more ad impressions, more revenue for forum owners, more members, more group buys, more activity, more information posted and belonging to Zilvia, etc etc.. I read your post but I feel like you didn't even read mine.

After reading this from another thread, I've come to the conclusion that this guy thinks he's always right and that he is better than anyone else, and he also assumes that everyone just replies to him without reading his previous posts. Crack cocaine has serious negative effects on your brain. I vote ban

Ok I understand a bit. Thank you for posting something worth reading. I haven't sold anything here yet but I'm sure I will still leave the price and make it clear (it's not hard) that it's been sold..

As much as I would love for you to explain your logic on how I'm the bitch, I know that you are in no way mature enough to do anything more than keep calling names. But lets look at who started this thread, and how pointless it is. oh wait, that would be you.

Sell it for whatever the heck u want! Not what other people want.... That's the stupid part! Not removing the price part!!!

if the part you are trying to sell is in still good condition and uncommon/rare of it...this is what you should do.

find out what the online retails stores are selling it for, let's say $100, take 20~30% off the price and make it $70~80 to sell. simple as that.

now, was that so hard??

I hope you have written letters to eBay and Craig's List, complaining in the same manner about them removing old listings.

This was not a Chat Topic to begin with, and since we don't have a "Whine and Bitch" sub-forum anywhere on Zilvia to move this thread to, I guess I'll just close it.
