I am sure it would cost extra to do it, just becuase of the amount of labor involved. But if you are paying to get an sr motor and tranny swapped then they would do it for the cost they quoted you on that.

Here's an idea, call a shop and ask them yourself. I'll even help you, call this shop: Phase 2 Motortrend. Their link pops up on this website and they do good work.

phase2motortrend.com does not do swaps anymore.

www.motorex.net, www.garageworkltd.com or www.hot-machine.com are place that do swaps.

This is the umpteenth time I've seen "That shop sucks, go to this one instead" without any other information. If you're going to speak poorly of something, explain why.

I mean, I could say "sykikchimp sucks ass" and leave it at that. Somebody else would say "no dood, you're an idiot, sykikchimp kicks ass" followed by links to his ass kickery and quotes from asses he's kicked. And then where would I be? Pwned.

In one phrase or less: don't knock it without telling us why.

Oh yes, the auto-manual swap :P
Typically it will cost extra as it's not simply swapping the transmissions. The shop will also need to change the pedals, run the clutch hydraulic lines, install the clutch master cylinder. There's plenty more, but you get the point. Your best bet is to call around for estimates at shops near you.

John,

Were you reffering to me? I was not knocking any shops. I was giving the kid a shop that I KNOW does good work (phase2) because I watched them do a swap on my good friends car. The car has been running strong and the motor was in very good condition and still is. Nice wiring job, and a very clean install. I was not saying that other shops suck, I was just giving a reccomendation on a particular shop based on my experience. However I was not aware that they stopped doing motor swaps. But if you weren't reffering to me than ignor ehtis post:p
