I first suggest reading EVERYTHING.
What i have for sale is my long going project FD3s rx-7. This car is by no means perfect and is not literally ready to strap in and drive anywhere. If you are looking or expecting a car to be Daily drive-able right off the bat, i suggest leaving this page. I have Thousands and Thousands invested into this car, and simply ready to end it here and let someone else finish and enjoy what i've started.
The car does start, runs and drives. There are nice video links of the car at the bottom..check it!
I'm extremely descriptive and want to give potential buyers a detailed image about this car. I'll first list the modifications.
Car is a 1993 Mazda Rx-7: Has lived its entire life in North Carolina. Zero rust on the body. Clean title in hand. Clean carfax as well ( i can provide).
around 84,000 miles.
This rx-7 has a JDM Aristo 2jzgte motor, along with a R-154 5 speed transmission. Mileage is unknown due to it being a Jdm imported motor.
Power windows, locks, and power mirrors, as well as power sunroof function as normal. there is no AC but i will be including a condenser, evaporator, and stock lines. Compressor is already mounted. The driver side door lock is a little strange. Might be need to be looked at.
Mods are as follow.
NEW: timing belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, new Toyota coolant. serpentine belt, starter, alternator, fuel pump (denso supra TT), valve cover gaskets, intake/exhaust manifold gasket, radiator hoses, rear main seal, crank position sensor, coil packs, motor mounts. I'm sure there is more i cant think of.
~Drfitmotion Flywheel and Driftmotion stage 3 clutch. only a few miles and still needing to be broken in.
~custom shifter extension with stock shifter, and brand new Toyota shifter bushing.
~brand new T4 garrett 60-1 .58 exhaust AR. only a few miles.
~Synapse syntronic BOV
~Synapse 40mm wastegate ( open dump )
~Stainless steel oil feed and return.
~rear sump oil pan conversion with new gasket.
~4" downpipe to 3" real Apexi N1 cat back. Perfect fitment
~exhaust housing exhaust manifold are ceramic coated
~intake manifold ( upper and lower ) all pulleys, valve covers, water neck all powder coated a bright silver metallic custom color.
~12v mod to denso fuel pump (0miles) to stock 440cc injectors (just got flow tested and clean)
~shifted performance custom subframe kit, torque arm and tranny mount. all .25" chromoly steel tubing. (allows stock hood fitment)
~800whp driveshaft shop custom made one piece chromoly steel driveshaft.
~koyo radiator, with dual 12" fans wire to switch
~4" thick aluminum Inter-cooler core with 3" piping. all silicon couplers and T-bolt clamps.
~AEM wideband and Tru-boost gauge on A-pillar.
~summit racing red digital oil pressure and water temp. Custom installed in factory location on gauge cluster
~have dakota digital boxes for stock gauge a speedo but not wired in all the way yet.
~Apexi Neo
~JVC CD player.
~Racing beat Front sway bar and Rear bar with poly bushings.
~new tie rods and ends, with new boots.
The car does run and drive, but is still a project. I needs TLC and some time. All the hard work is done though. The bad list may seem long, its only since im OVER detailed in description. im listing everything "needed" to be done for the car to be perfect.
car needs: read, read, read, read.
needs inspection of transmission. Randomly the 5th and reverse gear stopped working. 1-4 work fine. 5th and reverse were working just great untill one random morning. Worst case would be replacing it and a good r154 is $600.
~Car needs paint. period. Has one dent that can be easily repared on the rear quarter panel.
~ Needs my new rotors(generic slotted) and brake pads(stop-tec) and My Hinson bumpsteer correction kit installed.
~interior needs cleaning. In my honest opinion the door panels need either a respray or just simply replace. Seats are not torn, but could use new leathers. and random interior pieces have slight scratches on them. The car is all original and 18 years old. There is no rear carpet in the hatch area.
~gauge cluster might needs to be replaced. i think it has bit the bullet and is time for a new one. I can not get the tach and speedo gauges working. and the odometer stopped as well. you can get a newer used working one for $100.
~needs new speakers, only 2 work.
~Power steering is all connected and there but i believe the pump isn't really pumping. Probably need a new one. They are cheap.
~car does smoke some upon start up and heavy rev. There is NO oil restriction fitting on the turbo. that could easily be the cause. other wise the motor doesn't tick, knock or leak ANYTHING. its extremely healthy sounding.
~ The welding on the sub-frame isn't the prettiest but gets the job done. I myself would leave it alone. Some people are picky and would want to redo it. It doesn't hurt the car in any shape or form. Just putting it out there for no surprises. Its a simply fix "IF" someone wants to do this.
