I think it'd be alright, if it's new. About as cheap as your can find it in the u.s. I guess. .
if you can find someone to get you something from yahoo auctions japan, tho. .you'll have it for 50-80 bucks, if that.
I got my brand new condition S14 wheel from there, but the guy burnt me on the wing I also ordered. . so be careful.
Still, it was a nice thing he did for us. . . but now I have to kill him.

He had offered. . the wheel was 40 bucks, and shipping was. . hell.. I dunno. .50-60 or so. . (I won't include the cost of the wing that he fucked me on, however). . but that has to factor. . so no longer a good deal, but not a bad one haha. .
Not sure where he came from. . seemed like a nice guy, delivered everything else. . I'm thinking he broke the thing and is too embarrased to tell me. . I send him email daily reminding him I'm not gonna forget about it.

Is the S15 wheel any smaller then the S14's wheel?
Does it have functioning airbags?
o.O I wanna get one~~~

KoukiS14 - Did you get your horn to work? if so, how did you go about doing that?

I installed a S15 steering wheel on my S14. Direct bolt on. But I lost curise control. Airbag and horn harness plug right in. Perfect lengths too. And the airbag light on cluster works probably as before. So I'd assume the airbag is working. Horn is working.
I got mine for $200USD shipped. It's in very good condition =)
Good luck

Yeah, I did. . I used the JDM harness . . it's just a single wire, and everything functions great. . one thing tho, I unplugged the airbag and plugged it back in so much that I caused an airbag fault. . BUT. . you can reset it. .I found the info in a faq on 240sx.org :D
I did lose my cruise. . HOWEVER . . .that's only because I haven't wired it up. . I can switch back to the USDM harness, and splice into it. . I recreated the cruise buttons on the panel on the bottom of the wheel. . I'm just not sure where to wire, and I've been busy with school. . haha. .
A friend from NICO installed hers the weekend after I did mine. . she just took the factory cruise buttons, and mounted them on the side of the wheel. .right where they normally go, and it looks PERFECTLY OEM. . just had to modify them a bit. . I should have done that. . haha
I'll get mine working later on, but. . I'm lazy.

No the S15 steering wheel is the same size like the S14 wheel and sure they have a airbag. With my german S14 its plug and play :D and everything works fine, airbag and horn.

It's not so plug n play going from USDM wheel to german wheel tho. . hehe
The scariest part was the wire ring. . thingy. Had to be turned so the knob hooked up into the wheel. . but check this. . put the OEM momo K's aero wheel in a friend's car (96), put my JDM / Euro wheel in my car, and another JDM wheel in a friend's 97 (same year as mine)
And out of THREE cars, that fawking assembly was different!! That knob was in an entirely different place haha. . (all 3 had cruise). .
I can use the JDM wire and make it "plug n play" but we're lazy here and like our cruise control haha

That's why we never got so much as the 200sx :(
They're like "haha. . we'll put a truck engine in there"

JDM harness eh? How did you get that?
So the spiral cable (USDM) didn't work with your German wheel?
Damn....right now I have no horn  and a nice and simple steering wheel. :)

ACTUALLY. . it's a JDM wheel :D
but you know, since it's LHD. . I can pretend I'm driving a 200sx now haha.. only with no power.
It works. . there was another hole on the back. . hehe. . just gotta be careful u doan turn it too far, cause. . if you turn the wheel to lock and it's already tensioned. . it'll break. .those things = expensive. . it works PERFECTLY tho.
The JDM "harness" . . Basically. . if you look at your factory USDM wheel, you'll notice the thing the cruise plugs into. . Has like 4 wires or so. . 3 for cruise, one to ground horn out. . The JDM wheel's plug is IDENTICAL. . and mine happened to have the wire with it that plugs into that harness. . only instead of 4 wires, it was one yellow one. Just plugs in, grounds the horn. . and that works. . to use the cruise, I'll remove that and do it like it was when it was stock.

I think the problem is the cruise controll. In Germany you can't order this and i think you can't order it in Japan, so its easier to put the JDM wheel in the german S14.

Jawohl. :D
(sorry been playing way too much wolfenstein, and now I have a use for the word haha)
But uhm. .yeah, it would be. . I never bothered hooking my cruise back up, but it's a REALLY nice thing to have for a long trip. In Germany, the autobahn is nice and curvy and keeps drivers alert. . but here, they tried to copy it but made the things so straight that it's annoying.
(besides. .it stops working at 90 mph haha)
cool thing is, now that I have it installed. . I get to pretend like I'm driving a euro 200sx. . that is, until I press the pedal and it barely does anything

You could use your factory harness from your old wheel.
But to use the horn, you have to have the cruise switch on there. . . in other words, the other 3 wires must ground in such a way as to make the horn work when you press the button.
I'll look into this in a bit. . but wanted to record the thought :D
My point is, you can modify your harness to make the horn work.
ACTUALLY. . I have a schematic that will help. . but I gotta go to class and I'm still naked.

 actually I've never been to Germany. . I'd LOVE to go. .
I was watching a show about the autobahn, and they mentioned that ours are basically a failed attempt haha
Yeah, that wheel can be pretty expensive. . my friend had it in his 96, and it's definately a nice wheel. .red stitching, plastic "aluminum" accents. . it's a nicely made wheel.

No its not so funny here, the damn autobahn is full of cars. You can't go fast on daytime. I drive around Munich every day and its traffic jam all the time. And all the fu**ing BMW, Porsche and Mercedes.
I'm fine with my S15 steering wheel. :D

*make sure your car is aligned straight
*unhook your battery and let your car sit for 20+ mins
*remove small side panels on steering wheel (flat head screwdriver recommended)
*use a T-50 TAMPER RESISTANT (or TAMPER PROOF) torx bit and loosen the two bolts holding the airbag module in place
*disconnect the airbag (yellow plug) and remove
*disconnect the cruise control and horn
*loosen the nut (19mm) in the center for the steering wheel
*jiggle (like a bitch) and pull (like a bitch) the steering wheel until wheel comes off
Since I didn't install the S15 wheel...I can really relate these steps to it....
*look at the back of the replacement wheel and see how its suppose to line up with the sprial cable (clock spring, wire ring, yellow thingy, hub)
*adjust the sprial cable to line up with the replacement wheel.....DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE SPIRAL CABLE...DO NOT PUT IT IN A FULL ROTATION...YOU WILL MESS SHIT UP..I AM NOT AT FAULT IF YOU PLAY AROUND WITH THAT THING TOO MUCH
*mount replacement steering wheel over sprial cable and tighten bolt
*connect horn running a wire between the sprial cable and the ground wire for the horn
*connect airbage module
*tighten bolts on the sides and replace side panels
*connect battery and test horn...if failed disconnect battery and double check connects
*if everything works reset the airbag light (if needed)
I can not relate those steps to the S15 wheel because I don't remember an opening on the back of the wheel to let the airbag and horn wire pass thru.
But regardless of what steering wheel you have.....do not play around with the sprial cable....just move it a tad bit....nothing more.
