Will 195 size tires be all right on my stock s13 wheels? I know the stock size tire is 205 but my brother had 195 tires that i got for free and i need tires really bad so i took them and am getting them mounted today.

go look in your glovebox and then come back and tell me if you think they'll be ok.

very few tires come in 190. 195 was the stock tire size 205 was what came with the optional sport package (HICAS, etc)
misnomer

205 was also standard on some of the SOHC models with a sport package (no HICAS here).
Generally speaking, 195/60/r15 is the factory tire size.
well then ig uess i got a SOHC "sport package" then along w/ rust on the hatch:rolleyes:

Probably because their wheels are not as wide as yours? I run 225/50 and 205/50 (stupid Azenis only come in this size for 15's :hammer: ).

the thread is about STOCK size ...not what size WOULD you run IF you had any wheel choice...
so Mr. WIDE TIRES...you think 215 is wide??...think again...
i'm wondering what wheels you have anyway..prolly 17x7 or 7.5 +38 to +42..

pics of the 225s? i know the diameter is right, but i wasn't sure if they would rub or buldge on the stockers

all you have to remember is that the 225 stands for 225 mm, or about 8.86 inches so you would have that on a 6.5 inch wheel. i know i've seen 225/__/15 on the rear wheels before. only america uses units like inches, quarts, etc. just remember 1 inch is 25.4 mm. only thing that's in inches is the "15" in the description.

oh, wasn't in response to your post, but something along the basic post in the beginning so maybe the 195 to someone if any at all in relation to the stock rims. last size i saw was 225 before i posted, should've used 195. oh well, who cares.
oh ok. just assumed it was in ref. to my post. :o

I don't run them on stock wheels. They're on 15x7.5 meshies with a +0 offset, and with the camber/drop that I have it set at, it rubs inside a bit. I don't think they'd work too well on stocks.

RIIIIGHT. and its bad because? Dont be so judgemntal of people. i was just asking a simple question. i wasnt sure if they were runnin stock rims or not. Plus i would figure 17's w/ Eagle GS-D's would be better then stock rims and tall sidewall tires.

Tire width should be chosen with the width of the rim, period. I personally prefer tires that create a BLOCK shape with the rim, I dont like the tapered look and I dont like the flared out look. However, trend shows that some people prefer to run wide rims and under-sized tires so that they taper inwards, this is to reduce the flex that the tire normally deals with. I personally think this is unsafe, but it seems to be pretty popular.

I dunno why people run such skinny tires, you should consider upgrading to something less rubber-bandish and wider. I run 245/45/16 on a 16x8 15lb rim. :)

Mike, do you have coilovers? My wheels are 16x8 +38 and I am afraid they may scrub. I am thinking about using kyb's and sportlines with a 235/50/r16 tire. I may use prokits if you think they will scrub.
