I have searched multiple threads and found many different answers so I thought I would start my own thread.

To start off with the car is a 89 hatch with a built KA24DE-T from a 92.

The car is turning over and clicking but it doesn't always start. Such as this morning it clicked and caught for a second but then died and started clicking again. Sometimes I can catch it buy pushing in the gas and revving it to about 1,000RPMS for a second.

Also, seems like it only starts the times I press in the gas pedal while starting it, but this shouldn't be an issue since it's not carbed correct?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Also car has a brand new battery as of yesterday, and the starter has been checked as good.

Edit: Also, coming to stop lights it will drop the rpm's down to 400-500 and then catch itself and go back to 1000 after a few seconds. I cleaned the MAF/Intake already.

starting issue could be a dirty fuel filter or a bad fuel pump.

The idle issue could be the IACV.

Forgot I started this thread. It was the fuel pump. The rubber hose connecting my Walbro 255 to the stock fuel line had ruptured causing low/no fuel getting to the motor without me revving the shit out of it.

Plus the POS who installed the previous one didn't have any filter on the pump, no isolator, and was just dangling by 2 wires.

Check your Fuel Pump Fuse

Best way to check your fuel pump is to loosing a fuel hose and take it off, turn the key to the on position and see if the fuel comes out, if not its either your pump or fuse
