View Full Version : TOMEI RAS installation QUESTION

installing a set on my redtop s13 motor....was wondering if i need to cut anything on the valve cover for the redtop motor..cuz i remember cutting my s14 sr20det motor...heard it never need to but i wanted to be sure and see what u zilvians say...thanks for any info

You have to remove the exhaust cam baffle or cut it so the stoppers sit flush if I remember correctly.

o ok...its wierd..i read some dont need to..i mean for other brand ras...but for tomeis is it mandatory? thanks for the info stryfes13

o ok...idk in zeyrons site...he sed the s13 ones dont need to cut anything..jes slap it on and ur set....but i followed the instructions in the online english ...jes to be safe...its wierd..there was no clearance issue when i tried it on with my no cuts...but i cut it anyways jes to make sure...

I had Tomei RAS. I'll confirm there was no cutting necessary.

The only thing you have to cut is the stock baffle plate that is on the exhaust side! It just has to have the two corners cut off so it is flat where it installs on the RAS and it is the same with all other RAS. Tomei RAS are the BEST because they come with the spacer plate for the intake side so the oil squirter tube is bolted down flush.
