Are self tapping screw metal or plastic?
I was under the impression that they were plastic like all the screws in the console and all that, but when i searche for it, i only found metal ones.
I need to get a hold of a few of them to put my side skirts on.
Does it matter if they are metal or plastic?
What have you used to put side skirts on?

They are metal and I also suggest some 3M double sided tape (designed for body add-ons).

I put mine on about a month ago. I used galvanized steel self tapping screws. I also used about 3 rolls of 3M tape.

haha. so you musta bought something from jspec. i like their descriptions to body parts.
"Used so it'll require repaint. Doesn't come with mounting hardware, you can use 4 self tapping screw and double sided type for mounting(not included)."
thats like in all their used parts. sideskirts, bumpers, wings. for the longest time, i never knew what selftaping screws were either. lol.

It's also too big.. 225x380.. rules dictate 200x400 as acceptable max height, and width.

This is the lamest, most ghetto group I've ever seen. Rivets, zip ties, screws? Some of you dumbasses don't even know what a freakin self-tapping screw is, yet you want to slap that phat body kit on all by yourself. Amazing!

some of us actually go to the track rather then pose around town with our shop installed kit because it didnt fit right
oem fits PERFECT
oem kouki 180sx bumper
DRFT bumper
oem s13 aero sides fit perfect
oem s13 aero rear fits perfect
HOT ROAD body kit fits perfect
abroad wide front fenders fit perfect (S13 and 180sx version)
Friends bumper and sides and rear fit perfect
no 'nismo' kits here.
no 'vis' or 'import fan' here.
sorry dont need a body shop to help install those. not THAT retarted to need to pay for something that's so easy to install yourself.
and zip ties are for track use genius, but you wouldnt know that since you probably never been to more then cone dodging events, im assuming.

i was on the phone as i typed it haha..sorry!
im a cone dodger myself though i do prefer open track to cone dodging. :)
hitting a cone does break zipties and i'd rather breka that then my bumper!
example. my kouki bumper had 4 zipties on the sides (2 per) after hitting some cones i broke all 4 haha. now it sags. gotta fix that. :)
at the track dropping a wheel will rip the ziptie usually before destroying ht bumper but it really depends on the type of incident.

The zipties do look damn good, except for the gaps at the top. I take it you could use double sided tape for that? Does it leave gunky glue where it was on there?

Yeah, it may leave some residue, but it'll come off easy with some goo gone.

I get loads of heavy duty black zipties that are removable from Dell. They have a little tab you can press, and they slip right out. Pretty sweet when you need to take shiet apart, and put it back together all the time.
