View Full Version : $800 for S14 euro headlights, too much?

I have been able to source some euro glass headlights from overseas, but they cost quite a bit. The price is around $740, but the shipping is $60, because the glass headlights are heavy.
So do you people think that price would sell? If many people are interested, I will start advertising on here and make a group buy.
Thanks for any input.
$800 sounds really expensive to me. i think someone tried to do a gb on these before for $600 or so. can't remember the exact price, but it wasn't anywhere near $800 as far as i can remember. i'd love to get a set, but they're just too expensive for me, even at $600 or so

I am getting these in Japan, which is maybe the reason why it's a little more, because they came from Europe.
I searched around, the $600 group buy never went through, and the person who started the group buy said his supplier had to pay $800 for them himself at the end or something, and there wasn't anymore to the group buy.
Shipping is a killer, because these glass headlights are somewhat heavy.
I will let you guys know on it if I find another way to get them for cheaper.

$800 is a lot of money, but I guess it is somewhat worth it if you are INSANE about your s14 and really like the 95-96 front-end. Personally, I've always liked the 97-98 front end more. Not only does it look better (my opinion), but the USDM headlamps (which are easily avail) are made of glass with projectors. The newer headlamps are also better units in terms of upgradability.
For those who dont want to change front ends, the 95-96 still has potential.. it is just harder to get a super clean finished product since the headlight design isnt as easy to work with. The plastic housing doesnt help its appearance, but if polished and *maintained*, it will still look good.
Personally, I wouldnt touch the imported headlights mostly because they are expensive and very difficult to replace if damaged. I would rather spend that money on upgrading a set of either USDM headlamps with projectors/HID. I just finished upgrading an R32 Skyline, the conversion came out super clean.. full LED and HID. Expensive, but nice.

I have a source in germany where I can get the lights for US $648.00 shipped. That is my cost, and I wold not make a profit. If anyone is interested in that price let me know.
From my source:
The price for one headlight at Nissan is 256,85 Euro. This is the price
we have to pay.
Example for a set of two (left, right) including shipping to the USA. 256,85 EUR x2 = 513,70 EUR + dhl packet 5kg to 10kg is 39 EUR to North
America
complete 552,70 EUR changed to $ 648,-

What do you mean by that?
Are you planning anything for these headlights (97-98 240SX)?

Dang if i had money to throw around i would definently buy a pair from you, but with $800 i can just about do a front Kouki conversion!! And like Mike said it looks better and its already Glass!!
Ohh another thing i think the $600 price tag was for used not brand new?? Well it sounds like your selling brand new $800 ones right?!?!

Yes, they are new. I think someone attempted to start a groupbuy for them for $600 new, but it never went through because his supplier wanted $800 for them from him at the end.
Also, shipping is really expensive since they are heavy.

If I had a zenki S14, I'd definitely get those. To me, the zenki looks way better than the kouki, but I can't stand the plastic US headlights. The glass ones are 100x better.

Thats because everything varies, depending on price, condition, and how popular an item is.
When you guys start to take into consideration how difficult it is to find certain non USDM car parts, how expensive it is to ship them, let alone pay taxes on importing them.. you start to realize how difficult it is for companies to stay in business. Its also very hard to put a price on some of these items.

Like I said, the 97-98's are better units, hands down. I think they are better because they are glass, projector-based, and look more stylish.
Do I have any plans for them? Sure, if anyone wants to pay to play. I have already done conversions like this, here is an R32 Skyline:

How much for a setup like that on my headlights? (even though I have black housing already)
Umm.....can you briefly explain how you did that?

Unsure how much it would cost for an S14. Its fairly pricey since it comes with true-HID projectors, ballasts, and bulbs, all DOT compliant. Expect to pay somewhere near 1500 for the entire conversion.

That's a 200sx. . unfortunately, the Silvia headlights are plastic. But, they look a bit nicer than ours. (and just about identical to the glass e-code lights)
My friend was the guy doing the group deal, and I was in on it cause I wanted to source some Kouki lights... we thought we had a source, but they kinda. . evaporated. . or something. . sucked.
Mark: Awesome work. . I'm wanting to buy a Z33 now more than ever since I saw your Z33 headlights :) VERY good job.
