im looking at a 2000 camaro with an LS1 with 126k miles or so, attached to a T56 with a new clutch...its a salvage tho, and hes asking 4grand....my plan was to yank the engine and trans and whatever else i needed and sell the rolling chassis.....is this a good deal? or a good idea? i want to talk him down to at least 3500....the engine and trans will be going into a 95 s14 240sx, and its going to be a drift car...any advice will help thank you

Actually sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

yea it doesnt sound like a bad deal at all....im just wondering about the higher milage of the engine, and what its going to end up going through, wether or not i should rebuild it before i throw it in. that and ive seen some rolling camar shells going for 2500 bucks...so if i talk him down, its like im getting an LS1 full swap for 1000.....which would save me money for swap kits, GTO oil pan stuff and what not.

Good catch, this was the same path I was on. I looked for a few months but eventually gave up, just going to do SR again.
I'd say buy it. People are asking $4000 just for the motor / trans. If that deal falls apart for whatever reason, you mind sending me the sellers info?

I actually know of two at that price. The other one is same year lower milage at 85 buts an auto. So if i dont g o for either or i can hook u up with the info. Im leaning towards the manual just because its already mated up and ready to go, judt gotta swap a few parts and thats it
