A couple weeks ago I was messing around on Autotrader.com and I saw a Carfax.com link that said I could try it for free. I entered my VIN and they told me that they had 2 reports for my car. So I spent $19.99 to see what they had to tell me about my car. They had 2 reports that told me that my registration had been signed over twice. Feeling ripped-off now, I got the VIN off of my mothers car. Knowing that she has been in multiple accidents, and that it was a company lease car, I was curious to see what kind of reports they had on her car. The report for her car ( a '94 Mercury Sable), came up totally clean! Furthermore, the report stated that the car was never even a lease car! After that, I wrote them an email, letting them know what a scam their webpage was. I have yet to get a reply about a refund or even a reason for the whole thing. Now that I feel totally screwed, I figured I should let y'all let me know what you find out about your cars. Someone might as-well get some use out of it. I sure the h*ll didn't. Just use my email address to login.
