What, in your opinion, is the best engine swap for a z32?

depends on your power goals, what type of racing you will be doing, and how deep your pockets are.

the VG30DETT will supply most people with what they need in any motorsport. Maybe even a stock VG

a VG30DETT money wise it's the smartest thing to do. why because its bolt in and will make 500whp with very little money and ease.

now if you have deep pockets and can care less about costs and amount of work. a VQ35 will make the Z32 a very balanced car. (better than the Z33 IMO)

I have owned both a Z33 with a DE, a Z33 with an HR, N/A and TT Z32's and i really think a VQ35DE(TT) Z32 would be killer. 50/50 weight distribution with power and torque on tap. it'll be a monster on the time attack.

For the street: VG30DETT. No need to reinvent the wheel here.
For the track: The sky is the limit. But I think most will agree a lighter LSx.

id go with a different route personally. take the engine out all together. cut the floor boards out and do it flintstone status.

all joking aside. there is nothing wrong with a vg30dett. if a swap is where your heart is. there are a few rb26 swapped z32 examples out there that make your southern regions tingle a bit.

plus 1 on the rb's. Not cheap though, vg30dett is a good route

Fuck yes to a VG30. 600hp stock bottom end? Yes please. Factory forged bottom end? Yes please. I'll probably put one in my 240 after I pop my SR.

People have been giving me different routes on what to do. People tell me that an RB26 is a nice swap as well as the VG30DETT and I even had someone offer me help on a LS1 swap also. This is going to be my fun/track car.

What are some good prices for a VG30 and a RB26?

I like the 1JZ swap Z32 build that's going on currently in another thread. MA Motorsports RB26 Z32 was sick as well. VG30DETT probably makes the most sense but those engine bays make me cry. Haha.

Seriously haha, Had to replace my battery cables and the ground cable is hidden behind hoses and its hooked up to a bracket that is nearly impossible to get off without getting pissed off

OP, seriously. VG30DETT. The main reason ppl get rid of it is because the engine bay is too cluttered with it in stock form. But do a wire tuck and shave the engine bay while you're doing the swap and you'll be in love with the look.
