Welcome! Let me start by saying this build will require some time as I'm a grown-ass man who has an awesome job that keeps me traveling the globe just about every week and a super hot wife, both of which require a lot of my time. *If you dislike what you see, save the comments for your mirror and kiss my ass, this is my documentary, kick rocks.

However, I'm stoked to be building my Track Slut, strictly to beat on whenever I feel. My DD is a Lincoln LS w the V8, so she keeps me pretty happy...but a man still needs his toys.

Whenever possibly, I will buy parts from other Zilvia members - just keeping it in the family and I will make sure those members get their due respects! So if you have parts I may need at the time, please let me know, we'll strike a deal and I'll even blast you some love (that's what she said).

Story:
I bought this car while in college (GO PENN STATE!) from a kid in Virginia in 2002, so the underbody is really clean albeit OLD - 1989 chassis. I was planning on doing the SR swap on a college kids budget at the time - which is nearly impossibly without being even more broke. As I drove home from classes one day, I threw a rod out of the side of the KA24E block which forced me to move on to the SR swap a bit sooner than anticipated.

Got an S14 SR on....eBay...YES, I now know this is a horrible idea for the most part. The MAF was wrong, no igniter w the harness, other small issues. I had Yury at WiringSpecialties.com merge the S14 wiring harness with the S13 Chassis Harness. Got it all installed and it fired! Buuuut, it did the good old 2,500 RPM rev bounce, so either the MAF, ECU, or Harness had issues.

RAN OUT OF FUNDING!

So, here we are a few years later, 2011, like 8 years really - damn.... I make good money, own the car still without any changes and am prepared to make her my TRACK SLUT now that I can. Her nickname is "PatchWerx Sil-40" (if you don't like this, start your own damn project).

Please feel free to comment but don' be a dick. Only chicks like dicks, and I'm not a chick.

Enjoy!

glad to see your picking up where you left off. takes a lot of devotion. are you keeping the SR? what are your overall plans. and what kind of stuff are you looking for?

Started tearing her down a few weeks ago but I am limited to working on it on Saturdays only since I travel so often and the wife wants my Sundays to her - she's super hot so I'm not arguing!

Thanks for the love. I've been meaning to do this for years, but college then my career put it on the back-burner. Now that I've got both those set, it's on and I plan on going spider monkey over the next year to get this done!

My plans are simply to get involved with SCCA for some weekend fun racing or to cruise her on the winding country roads. I don't have a high horsepower goal like I think most people tend to target. I'm more interested in handling and applying what power I can get out of her. I love brakes and suspension knuckles, but I do still love the sound of turbo spool and a nice BOV.

Not sure if I will ever paint her or do real body work since I plan on beating on her, but who knows. Aesthetics = dead last priority.

I enjoy driving and pushing limits of anything so as long as I can do that with her, then I'll be a happy dude.

Thanks for asking! Stop back anytime!

Ok, so more teardown pics, which I'd like to make big and not thumbs... Nonetheless, I repainted the valve cover to a paint shifting color since I had it on hand. The exhaust is from a Zilvia member #deedilus (also supplied me an extra Starter and Timing Chain) and the ECU is from #efrain_n7 who helped me get the proper unit - I had an automatic ECU for some reason - more reason NOT to buy a motorset off eBay!!! Learn from me kids, if you're gonna spend $$, pay the premium and get the right stuff or save your money until you can afford to. Years of setbacks are NOT worth it!

Waiting on a premade converted harness from Yury at WiringSpecialties.com - shooould be here soon, but I'm sorta stuck without it. So until I get that, it's more tearing down and loading up on random parts.

Painted the valve cover with some color shifting paint I got for $0.01, yes 1-PENNY! Probably the only aesthetics I'll do anytime soon.

I like the pig lip, but you're right, she'd get banged like Jenna Haze. I keep her on there since it's sorta tough to find them. But for the track, she'd have t come off. Great observation bro.

I kept this car for like 7 years without touching it after the motor dropped in. I figured since I owned it, it wasn't going anywhere. I got my life in great order so now it's on again. Wife approved too, which makes this so much more enjoyable - read: no nagging

DOHC KA works. But you'd need to swap out the pulley and hard line. and bracket.

i have a buddy with a blow s14 sr sitting around ill see if he still has it. skype isnt letting me make calls right now though. one thing to watch for is after running that motor hard, if the head starts ticking, maintenance your VTC. big problem with those motors. had 2 of my buddies blow 3 of them up because we didnt know why it was tapping. then i ran into a guy who is stationed in okinawa tell me thats what the problem was and hes dealt with it before.

make sure you get rid of that sound deadening. go to your nearest welding/gas supply stores and get some dry ice!

looking forward to seeing this come together

Thanks for the heads up on the VTC. I always wonder if it's any good or bad. I mean, making more power is always good but not if it creates this complicated set-up. I don't think I can get it serviced anywhere around here, but I could mail the car to Florida and have Enjuku do it if I need it done.

If your boy has a PS pump, I'll gladly help him return some cash on his investment.

Ok, so I did some more work on the Slut today, but nothing to take/post pictures over.

More or less removing anything that isn't required like the A/C lines since there will be no A/C and all the accessories for it. Compressor will go next weekend (Anyone care to buy an SR A/C Compressor? If I had t guess it works fine base on the condition of the motor itself, but who knows - Make offer plus shipping, PayPal only)

Put in some new NKG plugs (5 temp rating).

Touched up my intercooler brackets just so they look good and not hacked. I had to cut some holes through the sheet metal (thanks SawzAll!) for the fuse and relay boxes so the IC piping fit right - ... but needs new sheet panels made for it now. Anyone know if someone makes/punches these replacement panels?

I also understand my pre-made new complete wiring harness shipped yesterday from Yury at wiringspecialties.com. I couldn't get it sooner! Quick oil change, check the fuel lines and tank, the brakes need changed but not before the motor fires, would be a waste ATM.

I suppose I could have posted the pix for this but I am short on time this weekend and wanted to get an update in for anyone who cared about this when I started it. My bad for no pix today - next weekend I will hopefully have some great pix! And maybe a fired-up SR20.

Gents, while I appreciate the wish to see pix of the hot wife that's something only I get to marvel in. The slow build process, that's for you. I only mention the 'hot' part cause if she were ugly or even just half-decent the car would be done by now, she's much of my delay/her and a career that has me traveling all over ;)

Trust, she's hot. 5'3" Italian, 110#'s on a bad day, 29 y/o and sleek built, she changes her hair color each month which is like me having a new wife every month - albeit the nagging is the same. She's even got an awesome job, double win!

It's a catch 22 guys. So I'm going to error on the side of having to live with her for the other 70 years of my life. I also don't think she wants to read some douchebags comments about her, much like I don't wish to; good, bad, or plain weird.

When the cars done and I can get a pic of her in it, then we'll post it on here as part of the build and it won't be out of context.

Sounds like we got some Facebook picture stalkers, eh?

Curious are you at the beginning, the middle, or the end of your build?

Beginning. I've had the car for quite some time, but college, then my kick ass career and other community activities (I play a leadership role for a few Non-Profits) took me away from giving it the attention it deserved so I let her sit and wait for me to be ready. I figured since I already owned the car, I'd let her wait on me until I had the time and funding. Now I'm ready and have time on the weekends when I'm not out of town to tinker a few items at a time.

Don't be a bunch of retards all your life. Read the other posts in this thread, there will be no posting of her picture.

None of you have pictures of even yourself on here, what makes you think you'll get to see a picture of my wife? While I appreciate the requests, she's my award and I'm not sharing. She's not a calendar slut like maybe the other girl posts on here.

If you want porn try Playboy, youporn, pornhub, or just google for it, it's pretty easy to find.

Back to business....

S14Sr into an S13 Chassis complete new wiring harness came yesterday courtesy Yury at Wiringspecialties. It looks great, but I'm hosting/participating a charity event to raise money for kids Saturday so I won't get to install it just yet. If I can, I'll work on this some Sunday and take pix of the items removed from the engine bay.

Side note, I'll be selling the old harness in the 'for sale' threads soon as well as some other stock parts and a "WE" coded ECU for an S14 SR Automatic.

Wow, it's been quite some time since I updated this thread! My bad. Been busy with actually working on the car and travelling a shit ton for work... Speaking of, any Zilvers in Denver Oct 10-14th or Vancouver Oct 23-28th? Just saying....

Ok, so sometime this week or today even I can post some of the pics I took. Decided stitch-welding the chassis was a good idea, but man it's kept me busy! FTR, I am NOT a welder, just a 'hobbiest' in that department, my welds look like caterpillars on steroids, but I'll be damned if you will ever see one break and I put that on yo'mama.

Will post the prep, weld, and grind down pix soon, hopefully today..

The Rules (http://zilvia.net/rules.html)

Build Threads

Almost everyone enjoys building their cars and sharing that experience, as well as checking out others' builds for inspiration. Sadly, far too many users have a tendency to do half-hearted builds and either rarely update or update with trivial progress. In the interest of keeping the Chat forum clear of three hundred 'Install SR, ziptie aero, rattlecan paint' threads, incomplete, or in-progress build threads are not allowed. If you have completed your build, wrangle all those pictures into a post and tell us about it, but make sure the build is finalized. If you insist on having an in-progress build, Premium members have a specialized subforum for that specific purpose.
