So i want to change my standerd light bulbs to led's. So i went out and bought a pack of two led lights to switch out the old( standerd bulb socket to fit housing), but when after installing them they wont work, meaning that one side wont turn on when driving lights are on and the other one wont even work at all. Before changing bulbs the light in there before were fine. My question is do i need to get something attach to my power line to the tails so they can work or make custom tails, really stumped on this

I would just buy led tails. I have d max leds and they work great. I've tried just getting the bulbs before and they blew fuses every time I turned on the lights.

u may need a resistor, some LED take way less voltage than the regular 12v

^ agree with dsastr. You need to get a resistor. I've actually seen resistors made for use when replacing regular bulbs with LED. You can find them at autozone I believe is where I saw them.

yes resistors will help, but more important a led is a diode, which means it will only let electricity flow one direction, make sure you flip the bulb in the socket

So installed the lights and resistors and they worked, but when i press down on the pedal my dash lights come on. Is there a grounding problem? Or just some serious gremlin problem

Anyone? Really stumped on this, none of my fuses are blown and not very savy with electrical

yes thats a grounding problem check that your using the correct bulbs... same thing happened to my friend, his running lights / dash lights come on when he hit the brakes a bulb was grounding out the whole circuit

you gotta scrub your terminals on your taillights like all of em

just make sure they are fitting properly, hopefully its not wiring and its just a bulb grounding it out... but there are two "tits" on the bulb base that push in and twist to lock it into place... make sure its the right pattern
