ok so I have a 1991 hatch with stock ka24de with 160k

A while ago I had to replace the lower front timing cover because I broke a piece of the thermostat housing off. So I bought a used one from a shop around town came with oil pump and everything.

I replaced everything and forgot to put the gasket in between the oil pickup and oil pump back on and therefor the head wasn't getting any oil and running super noisy/loud

I just put the gasket back in the other day and as soon as I started it up it sounded perfect nice and quiet, I drove it around for a half hour to make sure and it was still good.

Now the second time I started it up it was quiet then slowly started sounding as if I had timing chain noise/rattle and now its to the point where I'm pretty sure the heads dry again? I even opend the oil cap while running and seen no oil spray

Idk what it could be help me please
Thanks

You ran the engine without oil pressure. Almost all moving parts inside the engine have to have oil pressure. Without oil pressure it's metal to metal. Best thing you do is replace the engine or rebuild this one completely and inspect every part very carefully.

If you take it apart you might find something that needs to be replaced, on other hand you don't do this and you keep going, the part(s) will snap/break/crack = metal pieces every where and a seized engine, which would you like? pick your choice of the 2. There is nothing else to do, you fucked up and ran the engine without oil. You get the point? Even if there is nothing wrong now, you have caused damage to engine parts, that nobody can tell you how long they will last. Most engines will go over 200k miles with just oil changes. Yours on other hand might be 5 blocks, 100 miles, 1000 miles or 45k. Nobody knows until you take it apart and inspect every part.
Nobody can tell you here on the forum what is going on with your engine, you haven't posted a video or sound, even if you did there is nobody that will tell you exactly what it is for sure, it will be a best guess. Best thing you can do is go and buy yourself a stethoscope, it will help you pin point where the noise is coming from in most cases.

Oil pump seals went dry. Pack some vasoline in the oil pickup tube. and shove some in the oilpump. go nuts!
