View Full Version : Rb20 oil???

just wanted to find out which oil would be best for my set up. i have an RB20 with a R33 tranny, 555 injectors 90mm throttle body, hybrid turbo t3t4, tomie cams 262 cams. i have been looking in to mobile 1 5-w40 which i have been using but i have heard that AMSOIL is a really good one. i have alsosaw GREDDY has some oil that i heard was good also. so like i said i was wondering if someone can give me some pointers on which oil i should change over to????

Your insane if you use 15-40. Use 10w-30.

As far as what type of oil, I like Valvoline or Mobil full syn with a Mobil filter.

If your car doesn't have a cat, run diesel oil like Rotella T6 15-40.

why is it so bad to run 15w40 ? these engines get hot. 15w40 would hold up better with heat ?

... presumably this is summer time right now

That's all I run in my RB and it's sooo cheap!

That is the way to go here Brian. RB's get super hot and your car will thank you. Need to get something done about that exhaust too isn't helping your situation given this 100 degree crap we are having.
