Hello fellow Zilvians, I'm interested in DIY interior upholstry and I'd like to do the interior of my S13 chassis. My choice I would like to go with is Suede but i am unsure of what is best..Ive seen Faux Suede, Microfiber Suede, and regular Suede. If you have had personal excperiance with any of these feel free to post your opinion. I'm trying to acheive the suede look/feel and dont want anything that has that shiney look to it like I've seen with some of the Microfiber Suede. This would be done on items such as the center console, headliner, door panels. Also what would be good to wrap the dash in to achieve the suede look? Open to all opinions.

If you’re going to be going with this as upholstery for a car that will be driven, you should skip right over suede and go with a microsuede or alcantara.
The main reason is durability, a leather suede WILL wear out more quickly. Heck, even most top-end manufacturers go with alcantara rather than suede for that reason.

Microsuede, just like said above durability, I've done my glove box, headliner, and door panels in a blue microsuede, after 2 years it still looks new.
any one have any write ups on doing this?

Slide Wayz, may you upload a pic so I can check out how it looks? The alcantara does look great, but that stuffs real expensive per yard. Yea the car is a daily and durability wuld be a + for sure. On economic terms the microsuede sounds good.

For those of interest, I actually picked up some Microsuede, black in color, here are the pieces i have done so far. Wasn't so bad for my first time doing it, I'm real surprised how well it turned out.

Anything too curvy is going to look like crap unless you have pro upholstery skills & can sew seams into the design. I had a hell of a time on my s14 getting creases & bubbles out...

Yea I feel you, Struggling with the bends within the panel area. Dam creases. Glove box def wasn't as bad as the doors for sure.
