Hi i'm pretty new to the board and got my 95 240sx about a month ago and i love it. Eventually (read in 2 yrs after i finish college and get a real job) i would like to modify my car but i don't want to slap stuff on just because everyone else has it. so my question is can anyone recomend some good books on suspention modification, turbochargers/superchargers, engine modification, tires, and most importantly perfomance driving skills. I figure regardless of anything an upgrade of the driver should take place before an upgrade of the car.

i love this guy!
anyway, carroll smith wrote quite a few books about racing. not all would really help with street car modification but they wouldn't hurt. the best three that i can think of are "drive to win" "tune to win" and "engineer to win".
on the other hand, there is a reason alot of stuff has been done many times, it works.

Carrol Smith's books are good, but they make more sense if you read "Prepare to Win" first..
I also like
"Bob Bondurant on High Performance Driving" and "Going Faster: Mastering the art of race driving"

Also "High Performance Handling Handbook" by Don Alexander is VERY GOOD. I bought the book. All about suspension, tires, cahssis etc. Also is explains how aftermarket parts work. VERY good read if you plan to spend time on the track and if you are planning on spending money on suspension.
