1. Is there a difference between evaporation and vaporization?

Evaporation is liquid to gas, vaporization is the tendency of liquids to suspend in gas (suckass wording, example though: water mist).

Combustion is simply a reaction with oxygen, Lance said sublimation, that is what you're looking for.
