Ok i just purchased the s13.. it failed my state inspection for front struts so now i have to replace them.. i got the gr2's for 200 shipped new so i went for it... i'm thinking that i might as well get springs with it for now... since i'm going to have it out.. i've done a search and haven't found much feedback on the S-Tech tein springs... i'm actually wanting something close to stock height and the price of the s-tech is good.. but will they blow my GR-2's?

gr-2's are like 5-15% stiffer than stock, tops. basically any change of spring rate would blow them as they would blow new nissan shocks i'd imagine.

so you dont think it will be able to handle S-tech springs? i'm just stuck on this decision of changing springs also since i'm taking the whole thing apart newayz.. right?

depending on the drop and spring tension, they may last a while, or they could blow in a couple weeks. Johny5 is right about the dampening, the GR2's are basically OEM replacements. If you're set on getting more performance, u might see about returning them or selling them.

Dropping the car will have you bouncing all over like all the ricer civic owners we all hate so much. I wouldn't go lower than an inch, if at all.

S-tech or RSR 'down' springs would work well for you IMO. I've had my RSR springs damped by (used)tokico 'blues' for over a year, and they are holding up fine. Blues are about the same as GR2, maybe just a little better, which makes me believe your GR2s can handle a slightly stiffer spring just fine.

they'll be fine. they held up with my cheap dropzone springs. why i might add, the place that hooked me up with the dropzones, i wanted teins, but they said that dropzones are just as good. they told me that they're the same spring rate, and lower the same. but i don't know if i trust that, but still. i can hook you up with the springs if you'd want to.

i can't afford the KYB AGX's.. i just basically need the car to pass inspection, i'm seeing more of a cusco suspension for the future but i figured since i'm removing the whole assemble, i wouldn't mind spending the 150 on s-tech springs and give it a little boost... so far i'm getting a yes and no's.. my main concern is blowing the shocks after a month, that would be just a waste IMO... this is my daily car for school... any more comments or pics too?

if its just for inspection, then just leave in the stock springs. especially if u plan on changing sometime soon.

i wouldn't take any chances on basically-stock shocks with stiffer/lower springs. But I'm sure it could be done. good luck.

i wouldn't say soon... most likely after the sr20 so this would be a temp... its just the S-tech springs are such a good deal for tein products... does anyone here have this setup? pics too?

you will be safe running the eibach prokits on the gr-2 springs. I know a few people that run that setup and have no problems.
