i've searched and havn't come up with what i wanted to know
people tell me the ka-e is a better engine to turbocharge but my questions is if the CR was the same would the ka-e still be better to turbo?

Humm well these two engine respond well to turbocharging .... But you have to remember they were not made to be turbocharged ..
its a choice
wich one is in better shape.. ?
wich one the part cost less if something happen (if money is a problem)
anyway my choice is the Ka24E for me this summer :)
the CR of the KA-E and DE are almost the same..(well there a difference but anyway :P ) its more a matter of preventing the detonation... if you tune it well no problem !
anyway you can actually lower the CR in a ka-DE to acheive the same CR of a KA-E but its not the only thing that make a engine better for turbocharging..

Ive never seen a KA24E turbo manifold that wasn't a one of a kind peice....have you? Thats a factor for me. Also, seems to me that the DE has slightly better aftermarket support...and more DE parts seen on ebay.

i was not thinking about turbo part more engine part like piston ring etc etc but you are right they are less option when we want a turbo manifold.. !

you know im almost in the same situation you are, i've been doin alot of research bout turboin the ka24de, it seems like its a good motor to turbo and since i havent really been finding any sr20dets for a good price i think im just gonna turbo my ka. THe question i have is what good kits are there that are for the ka24det? I thought that greddy was going to come out with one but its takin forever.

You might want to check yourself on that one. Something to think about.
