Piston skirt shaving?

Has anyone heard of shaving down the piston skirt?

why would you want to shave the skirt on a four cycle engine ? i dont see the advantage of doing this .

on a two stroke you can cut the piston skirt to adjust timing much like you would to change a cam on a four cycle engine .
